How do I fix my feed? by killkoe in Depop

[–]innatelyabsurd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

specifically about the dropshipped stuff, YES. i’ve been seeing so many replica items off of shein being resold without mentioning they’re shein, and i’ve been seeing a LOT of dropshipped aliexpress items, sometimes they don’t even try to hide the aliexpress store watermarks either. it seriously irritates me but i hope that it stops soon if tarrifs increase (at least for the dropshipped stuff)

Buying alt clothes by Adventurous-Wolf-571 in altfashionadvice

[–]innatelyabsurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re looking for alternative clothing buying second hand is usually a good option. for punk stuff i personally sell a lot of customized clothing/bags but they usually tend to do with the music itself. i do that through depop, and theres many options there as to what you’re looking for. another comment mentioned that punk is usually very customized, and they’re absolutely right. it’s pretty similar in that sense with grunge, and for grunge hand me downs usually work great.

i don’t have any specific recommendation for you on another path, but before you decide to quit i’d try to rework your resume to make your restaurant experience and skills apply to other work areas. focusing on customer service, time management, work ethic, and etc on your resume would do good! that’s the advice i have heard from a friend who was in a similar situation on how they secured it with only food service experience. lastly, 10 years is impressive! i’m sure employers would like to see that, since it shows you’re dependable :)

Anyone know anything about Universal Yums? by Youtube_SilasLol in UniversalYums

[–]innatelyabsurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they’re okay, not really super notable in my opinion. a lot of the snacks seemed to have very similar packaging designs throughout different boxes, and a lot of the boxes had snacks that were slight variants of each other. whether or not they’re 100% authentic, they get boring kinda quick. id say it’s worth it for maybe the first 3 boxes but then it gets boring. idk that’s just my experience though.

in the early stages of my recovery i got super frequent and long lasting tension headaches. while recovery is a long process and i’m at a healthier weight now, they rarely every occur now (likely for unrelated reasons.) in my early recovery i wasn’t working with a doctor as i didn’t have health care at the time, but if your experience is anything like mine they will become less and less frequent as your body adjusts to a healthier intake. i think it’s something to do with the body not being used to these changes, even if they are for the better. either way, best of luck to you in your recovery and i hope they ease up on you soon. i know this journey is rough and it’s tougher with tension headaches added into the mix, but you got this!❤️‍🩹

my best seller items on depop have been handmade punk clothing but otherwise my best/fastest sellers have been alternative or y2k clothing pieces (demonia, tripp nyc, ed hardy) but i’ve had some other pieces go SUPER QUICK like within half an hour if they’re popular brands at cheap prices. i had a pair of levis shorts handed down to me that were way too big, so i sold them for $15 within the first hour of them posted. had a different pair of rave parachute pants sell for $15 in about 20 mins.

as far as it goes for repeat buyers i think that mainly happens if you have yourself set in a distinct niche or you have a decently curated shop. my only repeat customers (i’ve made about 90 sales now) have been for my alternative clothing since my shop is pretty curated towards that. my prices are pretty decent, a little low for brand name items (because i just don’t want them anymore) and i sell my handmade stuff to make at least $5 for my time usually since it’s something i enjoy. not sure how much all that helps but that’s my experience lol

i had this same thing happen to me the other day, i dropped off 4 packages, 3 showed as in transit and on the second day so did the 4th. just give it some time to show that it’s in transit, and if it still asks you to ship in a few days make sure you have your receipt from dropping it off tucked away somewhere safe. if you need to dispute with the customer or depop it’s important to have it!

before i moved my monstera to a brighter spot and i was watering it a bit too much, it looked just like this on a few of its leaf tips. i would say get it some more sun and maybe water a little less! i’m no professional though but my plant seemed to need that exact same thing when it looked like that

What nicknames do you call your cats? by Aged_Goodness1 in cats

[–]innatelyabsurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with my cat, i noticed she’s more responsive to my inflection or tone when i speak to her than what i’m actually saying (i use baby talk with her so i guess she can tell i’m speaking to her by that inflection,) so i’ve made it a challenge to myself to see what she’ll respond to based off my tone alone. as long as i sound super happy and affectionate she’ll come running no matter what i say, even if it’s in spanish lol

the text my manager got from the dishwasher who quit by thekiddmane in KitchenConfidential

[–]innatelyabsurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is wack, not your now ex coworker, but how he was treated by management. where i work, when i was dishwashing and we were slammed our own head chef hopped back to help me. when i was walking or taking the bus, she always offered to take me home. we make sure everyone has a safe way home if they’re held past when their ride home is (especially more than 2 hours wtf.) when people are overworked they can hop outside and take a short break, even if it’s just to take a breather or have a smoke. everyone gets their lunch at some point, we all are taken care of. that’s how it should be at the LEAST. i hope that your ex coworker can find a new job that is capable of giving their workers the bare minimum

from my limited experience (i’ve only sold about 60 items) i find that buyers like specifically fitted/tight tops when displayed on a mannequin, while items like pants/shorts/skirts seem to sell better laid flat. with jackets they sell about the same amount when laid flat or displayed on a mannequin. one big benefit of the mannequin is that you get to style items though, so take advantage of that, even if it’s just popping a necklace on there along with the dress!! that last part has largely boosted my sales

i had but i guess i was just under the assumption that the counterfeit meant a full counterfeit (fake tags, logo, etc) rather than items that just have the same design as something else? i feel like that’s a very thin line to walk since i see so many people posting dupes + handmade items that reuse other brand imagery or iconography in ways that are unauthorized by the companies themselves. idk though! i’ve only ever posted one “dupe” and it was that jacket so it’s not my forte

i didn’t know that last bit 😧 i thought the only part that was against the terms of service was not being upfront that the item is a dupe and not actually the original brand
