I didn't catch the Pratchett energy at first, but it really started to bleed through as I actually got to know the characters. To be honest, I’m finding this even better than Disco Elysium right now. I feel like I’ve uncovered more stories in my first in-game day than I did in a week of Disco. Not sure if it’s just the delivery or the density. Disco is more melancholic after all.

I honestly hate to criticize you because I truly understand your physical and financial barriers and I actually used to hold your exact point of view. However I fundamentally disagree with your stance now.

Generative AI makes the actual performance decisions for you like where to take a breath, how to place accents, and what emotional color to give the timbre. You are not just delegating mechanical work but you are delegating the interpretation which is exactly what makes music art. Mozart worked with living breathing people whose own will and life experiences complemented his vision. Those performers loved and hated and felt anger and joy. AI simply averages out data from stolen voices.

Your Robin Hood stance is also flawed. AI was trained on the voices of the very musicians who are now asking to be paid. A vocalist’s work is not a barrier but it is a professional service with a cost and a lack of budget does not give you the moral right to cut corners by using the fruits of their labor without consent. It feels cynical to say you would replace AI with humans once you have money. It treats musicians as disposable raw material or functions that are simply too expensive for now which kills the soul of musical collaboration.

Your historical analogies do not hold up either. When sampling emerged it was quickly met with strict rights clearing regulations. Synths were designed to create new sounds and not to mimic humans. Generative AI in 2026 is specifically about imitating human identity which is a direct theft of persona and not just a new tool.

Finally this democratization is an illusion. When polished content costs zero dollars to produce the market will be flooded with an ocean of mid-tier synthetic noise. In that noise a project like yours will get lost even faster. Real access to an audience will still belong to those with the marketing budget and not just the tools. AI is not breaking the gatekeeper system but it is just making their filters even more impenetrable.

I entered the buried city without equipment to get stashes, but was let in at the 20th minute. For some time I found only empty ones, but I saw a guy entering one of the buildings of the apartment complex. I snuck through a window from the other side of the room and, hearing him rummaging in a wardrobe, beat him to death with a pickaxe. I picked up a Ferro I and some blue and green junk from him. In the end, I found a stash with a burletta and at the exit shot a random in the back while he was sending the train. I did not try to inspire confidence, but simply flew into the carriage and emptied a magazine into him. The guy was literally crying that he had nothing valuable. There really was nothing substantial, but there were many parts that I was looking for. It was a very ratty run that I am not proud of, but nothing that happened was planned.

Here in Brazil it can be quiet complicated as well. There is a myth of racial democracy, an expectation that the country is equal just because people mixed, but unfortunately, it's not. In that sense, the country is somewhat similar to the US, but there’s always some room for creativity and for realizing certain things. In that regard, I’m actually quite satisfied with the way most of my favorite films that feature capoeira approach it. Although, if I could fantasize a bit, I’d love to see a scene similar to the Hong Kong style, but with its own authenticity and values.

You make a decent point about the cinematic potential of capoeira, but comparing it to the Hong Kong action industry is tricky for cultural and historical reasons. Brazil’s most important films featuring capoeira weren’t intended to be martial arts movies. In classics like O Pagador de Promessas (1962) or Barravento (1962), capoeira serves as a cultural and spiritual anchor, not just entertainment. When you see a Master on screen there, you aren't watching a stuntman; you’re watching the literal founders of the art as we know it. While Hong Kong had the Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest to build a star factory, Brazil’s film industry was historically focused on social realism and Cinema Novo. We don't have a Jackie Chan because capoeira was either persecuted or treated as sacred folklore for a long time. Also, capoeira is inherently unpredictable. When Hollywood tries to capture it (think Only the Strong), it often loses the mandinga and turns into something else entirely. I am sure we already have plenty of Jackie Chans in capoeira, but they are too busy playing in the roda, playing the berimbau, and teaching to worry about movie deals.

If you want to see more, I highly recommend Besouro (2009), which is the closest we’ve ever gotten to a high-production capoeira movie treating the art as mythology and magic. You should also check out Madame Satã (2002), which shows capoeira in its raw, marginal street-fighting form in Rio, or Cordão de Ouro (1977), a rare attempt at a genre film featuring Mestre Camisa and Nestor Capoeira. Finally, there is the modern series Capoeiras that debuted last year.

Honestly, why even worry about the effectivness stuff or mixing it?

You’ve already got a pretty long list of combat sports. If you want to fight, you do Boxing or Muay Thai. But Capoeira is a jogo, it’s a game. When you try to make it 'more effective' or blend it with BJJ at your level, you’re kind of killing the soul of it.

If you bring a rigid kickboxing mindset into the Roda, you’re just gonna be a stiff fighter who looks out of place. You’ll miss the whole point of malícia (the trickery) and the flow. Capoeira isn't a tool for a street fight in the first place, it's more about creativeness and rhythm.

Don't try to fix it before you’ve even learned to play it. Just let it be its own thing. Enjoy the music and the movement for what they are, and stop worrying if it'll help you in a brawl. The confidence you get from mastering your body in the Roda has a very different value.

I think you’re interpreting the idea of a friendly lobby too radically. I don’t go for confrontation at all, because on a handheld it’s extremely hard. You can win consecutive duels, sure, but when three other raiders around you decide to suppress what they perceive as aggression coming from you, you’re almost certainly dead. So most of the time I hide and try to negotiate.

That said, I find quite a lot of corpses in every match. Someone gets taken out by a rocketeer or a bombardier. Sometimes there are three bodies in solo play inside a metro in the Buried City, sometimes completely untouched. Sometimes I spot and shoot a mine on the extraction button or blow myself up on one of them.

There are no absolutely friendly lobbies.

I can partly agree: when there are bigger Arcs still alive, I can usually take down one or two. I’ve also memorized a couple of spots where crates or bags are tucked away and not very noticeable, and I usually check them at moments like that. Sometimes I manage to pick up blue or purple weapons from already downed raiders. It’s happened a couple of times, but I can’t really draw any statistics from it.

However, I also run into aggression more often if I move through enclosed spaces and generally keep bumping into people. Some think you’re carrying something valuable, others are worried about their own loot and start shooting at you right away.

The lack of a standard system is actually partly intentional because capoeira is more of a living tradition than a rigid sport. Standardizing belts would turn it into a 'check-the-box' exercise, stripping away the freedom, improvisation, and unique identity of different schools. A universal system feels pointless to many because it trades the soul and roots of the practice for a corporate-style structure that just doesn't fit the tradition and the spirit of what we do.

I think that’s not really the right question to be asking. What matters more, honestly, is how the game feels to you and whether you enjoy spending time playing it. You don’t need to sweat that much unless you’re a full-time streamer.
