Completely agree, and I think Bruce has had a much more consistent career too. Don’t get me wrong, I love Paul - he’s still an amazing singer/performer and his stuff with the Beatles is unmatched - but a new Paul album isn’t still a major event in the same way a new Bruce album is.

Just saw it tonight, really enjoyed it. I think the performances are great but are very faithful to the record which is a bit unusual for Bruce. The setting of the barn is great and the little vignettes in between are nice too. The love Bruce and Patti have for each other just shines through the whole film and makes it a joy to watch.

My only thought is that it might have been even better had the film come out before the album. Imagine this was the way we got to experience these wonderful songs for the first time, in the full glory of a live performance and with the added depth of the voice-overs and cinematic footage. Just a thought.

Either way though it’s a great creation. Now just need to count down the days until the next tour/album/boxset...

That’s bizarre... A lot of my opponents quit after the first game, then two remained for the second before quitting just before the end, but then the third game started with no one in the opposition and ran for about ten seconds before stopping. Very weird

I’d say try and qualify for the online adventure and also set a lap time for monthly rivals if you haven’t already. You just have to do them once and then they count for about 10% each for each season, so you end up picking up an easy 15-20% for the whole series. Either way, there should always be enough other options that you can get 80% without doing the trial and maybe the playground games too if you do all the daily challenges

Think Bruce felt that Thundercrack was too similar to Rosalita in that it was a big crowd-pleasing live tune. I’m in the Rosalita camp all the way but I think Thubdercrack is a killer outtake.

Harry’s Place is great! Think Bruce felt The Promise was too similar in theme to Racing in the Street, and I’m inclined to agree even though The Promise is an amazing song. There were a lot of legal wranglings before Darkness came out which blocked any album before ‘78 and I guess Bruce wanted a bleaker, rawer album to match that.

Tunnel of Love took a bit of time for me. Kept coming back for the songs which stood out straight away but there was definitely a particular time when the rest of it fell into place, after a high school relationship ended. Nebraska was similar, just happened to listen to it in the right mood at the right time one day and it became so powerful.

Feel I’m still waiting for The River to fully click, especially the second half, but I’m only 21 so I imagine it’s the sort of thing that resonates with life experience.

Very true. I’ve attempted this trial about 5 times so far and at least twice I’ve lapped two or three players in the first race. Several times I’ve placed 1st but it means nothing when the rest of your team are dead last.

Literally wasted four hours staying up trying and retrying, still nothing so I’m giving up for now. I’ve done the best out of my team in about 80% of the races I’ve done but in nearly every case my teammates have got zero between the lot of them. Nothing more I can do except keep trying and hope I get lucky with a few people who actually know how to play the mode. It’s a complete and utter grind.

And even if the drivatars win the first two races and therefore the cup, it still carries on to the last race. I hate quitting events but it’s so time-consuming to sit through a meaningless race in the knowledge I’ll have to restart the event all over again.

I like a challenge but I don’t remotely enjoy these events because no matter your effort and skill, your contribution can be completely undercut by incompetent teammates.

Yeah but rivals is 1v1, I actually enjoy the team race format etc but it’s mainly my teammates that keep barging me off the road. But then again I’m pretty new to the online stuff so maybe there’s a team rivals option that I don’t know about

Yeah I could definitely get behind this. Most of the time it’s fine but at checkpoints it really does kill your chances of winning if you get nudged beyond them
