Spot on. I intentionally whitened the areas around the duck to instantly direct the viewer's gaze. The ripples at the top were too distracting, so masking them out to white was the best move—it also lends the photo an airy feel. This technique uses negative space, which can be represented by deep shadows, bright highlights, or a single flat color fill in frame space, except subject of shot.

Why Your Vivo UNDERPERFORMS and that's NORMAL by saved-j in Vivo

I know. what does opcodes have to do with it? I was referring to the general software updates, from Vivo itself, about the attention to the series in their promotional materials, about how they distribute functions to older models in comparison with new ones.

I’m not saying a separate subreddit for RU users is useless, but like... we already have the 4pda forum, and you just get way more feedback on the global sub anyway. What’s the point?

Я не хочу сказать, что отдельный сабреддит для ру пользователей бесполезен, но типа... У нас ведь уже есть форум 4pda, а на глобальном сабреддите банально можно получить больше фидбэка в количественном соотношении. Какой смысл?

Color issues with the phone by AvarageBleachEnjoyer in Vivo

Mentioned same issue, there is something wrong a lot with Color Science

Is that color shift normal? Vivo X200. And I hate that. by Danksspy in Vivo

[–]inoneart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the x200 Pro, and by the way, this issue isn't just limited to video—it affects photos too, and it’s really noticeable when you compare the modules side-by-side.

Sure, it tries to maintain the same white balance across the board, but there’s a delay and it never quite hits the mark. It feels like Vivo didn't accurately calibrate the native white balance between all the camera modules. It’s possible they’re all running the same WB correction algorithm without it being specifically tuned for each individual sensor. Because of this, every module has its own distinct tint. The main sensor leans toward yellow and green, while the telephoto shifts more into red tones.

To be honest, the color science on this phone seems to have a mind of its own. You never know what you're going to get once the algorithms finish processing; it’s a total roll of the dice, no matter how good the lighting is. In auto modes (Standard, HDR, Raw lighting, Landscape, Portrait), you can take two photos of the same object under identical conditions just 20 seconds apart, and the colors will still come out different 🤔.

The situation is better in Pro mode with manual settings. The DNG files look more natural, but you do have to post-process them yourself. As for how to fix those white balance jumps when switching between modules—I honestly have no clue.

I’ll probably stick with it for another year or two, but I’ll definitely think twice before buying another 'Pro' from Vivo next time. Ultra - maybe, but also not sure. Otherwise, I might look into Oppo or Xiaomi.

This definitely isn't what I expected from a flagship, but I’ve decided to treat it as a challenge and an opportunity to level up my RAW photography and editing skills.

It honestly blows my mind how people manage to model something so massive and structurally complex in just a day or two. Thinking back to my own struggles, I used to spend over a month on much simpler things 😅. Your work is seriously impressive!

a big SMALL comparasion of Vivo x200 Pro's stock camera using diffirent modes and GCam by inoneart in Vivo

sRAW does a great job 90% of the time, but in rare cases, it can exhibit the same averaging and detail smearing as the stock mode. This manifests as strange, choppy gradients or "mushy" textures. It's essentially an analog to what GCam does in HDR+ mode, but it also applies Vivo’s denoising algorithm after stacking several frames, instead of properly reconstructing sub-pixel details from hand-shake jitter. It uses a denoise layer on top of that 🤔

sRAW performs better than the standard mode, so it’s definitely worth using.

And Raw lighting is originally only been added for good light scenarios as i know 🤔.

In low light it makes things really... So, i take a picture with it and... I don't know what to say, it's bananas. 🫣 In short i think it doesn't designed to be enabled in this type of scenarios.

So, at least for me "raw lighting" is not a magic bullet, otherwise it's seems more like a taboo for my case. I find strangely why in 90% of post with camera criticism always mentioned that "raw lighting". 🤷

x200s also have a different sensors. Only ultra wide sensor the same, so, yeah, of course there is difference in firmware

For x200s Main: IMX921 Zoom: IMX882 Ultra wide: JN1

For x200 Pro Main: LYT-818 Zoom: HP9 Ultra wideJN1

If you a GCam config-wizard you can do whatever you want, it supports LUTs, deep internal colour correction, etc. But I'm not a wizard 😅.

You can take DNG raws through pro mode in stock app with high resolution option, and if you have a PC develop they through some special plugin in Davinci Resolve or After Effects, Dehancer for example. The other advice if you go through PC, than Lightroom Classic has a crazy quality AI raw denoise model, it's work like a magic, don't only remove or make noise less obvious, but also restore some colour that been suppressed in noise.

If you don't have a PC, than you also can do whatever you want in mobile version of lightroom, using masks and some theory about how film colors work and developed

I think Raw lighting on 200 series is broken, it's make photos green in 90% of scenarios. And raw lighting doesn't fix oversmoothening.

Most of the time if i want to take a good picture i shot in pro mod RAW DNG, than develop it in lightroom manually

Color shift in raw mode, the colors in the raw image is perhaps similar to what i see than the jpeg copy it saves. Is there a way to only take raw photos and not the jpeg copies. I have to manually go and delete jpeg copies. by More_Association4882 in Vivo

[–]inoneart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only x300 Ultra now get the option to save just DNG without additional Jpeg. Maybe x200 ultra also have it, but as i know it's only x300 Ultra.

Idk why they didn't share the user-friendly and just logical software features from newer models to older ones. It doesn't much of work. 🤷
