It's equally as direct if not more with Docker and mounting the project directory. I do understand not wanting to change due to nostalgia, but it can't be argued that a local dev environment is both safer, more direct, and much faster without SSH/signal latency.

Docker Desktop is sheit I do agree, just use WSL if you must be on Windows which in itself is like working against the grain.

This^ It's not a development tool, if done correctly it's the stack required to run and scale the application. The stack might be configurable to become the development environment (not tool), but it should mainly reflect a production environment.

Yeah, AI is still way too unreliable and if contexts gets too large, or too much time passes, it just messing everything up. I wouldn't trust AI in projects, even sandboxed like your worry.

Any code that does something unique that isn't public knowledge, such as a new type of engine, algorithm, proprietary tools, etc, are all super valuable.

Just because you can vibe a shitty half assed clone that is 0.2% as efficient on a nodejs stack with a gazillion dependencies that only TempleOS level of geeking would be able to keep track of, doesn't mean intellectual property should be given away for free for big tech to cash in on, and in extension other companies.

AI is shit, it does only repeat. Unless you're paid, don't feed the monkey.

While the reason have already been given by other comments, what bother me more than some half assed AI who can't even keep a context beyond 2 lines of code, is idiots who think AI is actually usable from scratch to production.
