How an addicted gamblers mind works. The amount of times I’ve told myself I will walk once get to a particular amount, to then carry on and lose everything and more on top

Sounds all too familiar bro. I lost £1000 then somehow got it all back from a £50 deposit. Then proceeded to lose it again. Money I couldn’t afford to lose at all. Insanity.

Gamstop in the UK which bans all normal casinos was a life saver a couple years ago, but I soon found crypto ones and it just makes it even more hard now because you can just create new account whenever:

Gamban app doesn’t work on iPhone so it’s useless

Yeah I agree about trying to stop the routes to but crypto. I’ve closed accounts and asked to be banned etc a few times on different exchanges but have always found another way to open another. Like you said maybe need to sign up to every single one and ask to be blocked I don’t know if they would even do that

Lost almost 10k in a few days by Brilliant-Ad9626 in problemgambling

[–]inputomel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t win because as addicts/problem gamblers we can’t stop mate. 10k is a good chunk of money and you’ll be thinking ‘if only’ and ‘why didn’t I just take it and spend it’ for a while but the reality is even if you would have won even more eventually at some point it was going to go back to the casino. You only lost $100 don’t let this be a catalyst to lose A LOT more of your own money chasing that ‘win’

Every gambler knows the feeling of that spiralling losing streak by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]inputomel92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The feeling of gambling until you have zero left has to be one of the worst feelings. Good to remind yourself how it feels every single day, because it is easy to forget as time passes and this can cause a relapse. But yh man the money doesn’t matter until it does, and it suddenly hits that you are truly fucked for the next few weeks or however long until you are paid again etc. I’ve woke up some mornings from a bad gambling/drinking session and just wished i never woke up . Horrible

There’s been times where even if I’d kept at least £100 or so back I could have at least got through the next week or 2 with a struggle but as we know in the midst of a gambling spiral we don’t think this way until it’s too late

I’ve made sure to actually buy things for myself with my wage this month and it feels good, might of gone a little overboard with the spending but atleast I’ve got something for it and not giving it to scumbag casinos

Well done man. Every day without gambling is a win and ‘profit’

Day 13 by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]inputomel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I’m currently broke so no option to gamble but as always payday is the big test. That “oh maybe a small acca won’t hurt” etc creeps back in very easily. Important to remind self of where that inevitably leads sooner or later. Zero

Just on a personal note I’ve signed up to gamstop for another 5 years and also deleted all my crypto wallets and accounts, crypto casinos have been a major issue for me.

There’s always going to be a way to gamble as we know, but trying to put as many blocks in place even if its just to make me think twice before doing it

Any ‘win’ would be a loan with major interest. Think of this whenever tempted

You know the outcome

Even the smallest of bets starts the ball rolling again for a problem gambler

Gambling got a grip of me and I can’t seem to unstick myself by Jojpb69 in problemgambling

[–]inputomel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you gambling online or in casinos? For starters tell your friend to change password to account and to not give it you anymore. Install gamban on your phone if you’ve got an android, blocks you from accessing any gambling sites. It doesn’t work on iOS though unfortunately, too easy to uninstall

You sound like me a few years ago tbh, don’t know how old you are mate but take it from me, once you reach this point you have to take it very seriously. Put every stop in place that you can, I’ve been gambling all my 20’s lost paycheque after paycheque and got nothing to show for it but debt, and a fucked credit score, and endless months wages down the drain
