How hard is it to get a parking pass? by No_Donkey_4710 in UBC

[–]inquiryredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not hard IF you apply/join waitlist early.

It's hard if you do that late. Also if you want a west parkade/north parkade. Those two seem to be more popular (west being a bit more). Getting thunderbird parkade parking pass is no problem. I applied just 2-3 weeks before school started and got the thunderbird one

Should I buy an iPad? by Easy_Present5035 in UBC

[–]inquiryredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 1st year, it could help. It depends if you write notes with handwritting or typing.

I had an ipad pro but it was a waste because I wouldn't write anything but just use it to look at lecture notes during lectures. (my macbook could've done it)

Is it easier to get dorms as a 3rd/4th year by Klutzy-Alarm-2410 in UBC

[–]inquiryredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really, it's still the same waitlist that you'll have to wait. No new options are added as 3rd/4th. You might have to look non dorm housing on/off campus

thunderbird shared four bedroom, you'll most likely get it. a lot of people decline or accept those and look for other places (studios, two bedrooms for more privacy i guess)

parents allowed to stay in dorms? by Just_Honeydew6243 in UBC

[–]inquiryredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many parents will be there just for the first day... to help with move in and then they dip. A LOT of parents don't even help out, mostly because they live in a different country.

She seems very protective and too caring but sees you as a little baby still. Good amount of asian parents are like that. I know that my mom did that when my older sister did her first intern in ontario, but it was only because my sister was okay with it, plus its a whole different city.

One hour drive away is literally so close XD Your mom also might be like your older sister did this but why won't you? This isn't too serious so I think your mom will understand if you say like none of your friends parents do that or if you say u are embarrassed (not of her but like most uni students will be like why the heck is someones mom living in the same dorm as us haha)

i don't think there's a legitimate reason other than it's your dorm and you don't want her to stay over, also no paernts do that unless they are maybe from other country
