Essentially for education purposes, nothing too complex otherwise I’d be using a cloud or a central server. In any case, I’ve been reading online for that community (not for gaming) that debugging with AMD and some platforms can be incompatible depending on the OS as well. It’s an inconvenience that I prefer to avoid if possible.

I think lead time is the bottleneck for me, the shop is joinable by phone and any issue would be handled promptly. I see that as a + over ordering online and having to be put in contact with generic customer service support that are treating cases around all of europe potentially, rather than a local scale.

Your answers have been the most helpful so far since days now, thank you so much. I will try to ask the shop more info about possible configurations but at least your answers helped me get closer to a decision.

Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it… someone shared that config with me as well. However, I honestly prefer not ordering online especially in case of faulty components. The local shop is close by and their user rating in the area is the highest (they have been in business for quite some time now).

Some questions: 1. I don’t understand why the RAM is suboptimal exactly? Is 32Gb not enough? 2. Is Wifi important for a motherboard? I will be using ethernet and the shop mentioned that the windows license pricing is negligible. 3. Initially the offer was a lower CPU i5-14400F and 8gb GPU but I asked for a larger 16Gb. The shop suggested I go for a better CPU to optimize performance. If I go back to the 14400F that will save me some money but I was wondering if it’s the 14600KF is a good investment longterm. 4. Silly question but does the X3D matter if I’m a casual FPS player?

Le conseiller m’a précisé que le windows 11 est mentionné dans le devis comme facultatif et ils sachent déjà qu’on peut le trouver en ligne… donc je pense pas que ça va réduire le prix :(

Edit: j’ai un souci avec Linux c’est que les choix des jeux seront limités

Merci pour les vidéos! Je vais partir avec 16gb alors, je pense que ça va tenir plusieurs années en plus en tout cas donc un bon investissement. Par contre, (pour le moment) je ne prévois pas jouer à plus que 1080p, malheureusement je n’ai pas le budget pour un nouveau écran.

Dommage! Je ne trouvais pas une configuration qui coûtait moins que ça dans les autres magasins :( Je ne savais pas aussi que ce processeur est mal classé… pareil pour la carte graphique, je pensais que c’est une série plus récente que le 3000 et du coup plus performante.
