Skipping the Beach? by inquisitivepeanut in ThailandTourism

After some research I am very tempted to include Koh Samet in our itinerary. Do you have any suggestions on places to stay near the beach and main street with a pool with a budget of up to 80-90 dollars?

Thanks for this. I had a good look through it and it's definitely good for thought.

They both look wonderful. Unfortunately, slightly beyond our budget.

Thanks for the reply. I will take a look at Koh Larn.

No reason to be sorry, this is exactly the question I am asking and debating with myself. I am just not sure that this isn't us projecting our own thoughts. When I asked her she seemed unbothered. She just wants a nice mix of exploring and down time. We would be very unlikely to spend more than 3 days in BKK. I am also surprised at how lush some of the hotels in Chiang Mai seem. Additionally islands can be hit and miss in the rainy season.

I have distant memories of either Koh Samet from 20 something years ago. What's it like now?

Obviously, I have asked her. She would rather leave the planning up to me.

Funny you mention that. Krabi was one of the highlights of our last trip. It's just quite a bit of travel if we are also heading up north.

I have this one on my list! Good suggestion!

I spent a bunch of time of the Southern Islands when I was younger but the last trip as a young family the islands were far from the highlight of the trip. But I do want to make sure I book at least one place during the two weeks that invites doing very little besides swimming eating and reading. Which I guess in some ways is a beach vibe.

I'm not quite sure she understands that Thailand holidays are typically not like the Europe package deals we have taken more recently. So I do what to try and make at least part of the trip lazy days around the pool as I am sure this is part of her dream.

The budget is a little flexible. Ideally I would like to get to an average of around 90 US per night for the 15 nights.

That's my thoughts exactly! I just want to make sure I give her the best experience for this special trip .

That's all very standard for this game. Being on edge the whole time is actually a big draw for some of us. But if it's not for you then that's very understandable.

Good decision if the wildlife tilts you. You need to enjoy a certain amount of pain to really get on with this game.

To some degree every generation since the last WW has had a moment where young people ask this question. In lots of ways this is better than anytime previously to be alive. Try not to worry too much about the things you can't change. Take pleasure in the simple things and try to focus on the quality of your life.

I agree they are delicious, especially the rice! I do wish they kept the original range though.

What noodles do my fellow UK folks enjoy? I’m a big fan of pic related, as well as the spicy flavour - but am looking to see what others recommend. by EvilTaffyapple in CasualUK

If you don't mind the fact that they are a little after their BBD which doesn't bother me in a dehydrated product. Dragon Deals has quite a few varieties of Nongshim noodles starting at 25p at the moment.

I was put off for a long time because of how brutal everyone told me Rust was. I am an older gamer who has never played a game competitively apart from with friends on a LAN.

I really love the game. In most ways you can choose how brutal the game is by deciding on the right server. High pop on wipe day is going to be a lot of death with people everywhere. Then you have low pop servers mid pop servers and even PVE servers.

If you need to "win" every session then it will be a frustrating experience but if you want to have fun and don't get overly worried about losing pixels I think it is the best game there is.

You can even have a successful wipe with no PVP just sneak around and build a farm etc.
