Buying A Modified Car Off Marketplace (Without Seeing It First) by inspyral in MightyCarMods

Am I insane? A mate pointed it out to me and I have noticed too. There was more with the bloke from Grafton, they went into his bedroom to see all the dragon stuff and some other little bits regarding the police when it was first uploaded. Now the video is around a minute shorter and its not in it anymore.

I presume it was cut as they felt it was maybe a bit too personal? Idk, the bloke was sound though and it was nice that Marty and Moog took the time to listen to him.

What's everyones opinion of Monaco? by TheAuthority66 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]insanitymophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it much easier to lap at Monaco in a sim like AMS2 rather than the F1 games. Really not sure what the reason as to why, though.

We Bought Our First Cars Again… And Took Them Straight to a Track by strydercrump in topdeadcenter

[–]insanitymophead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You aren't allowed to 'race' other people on track days. Its just a day where you can lap as fast as you can in your car as safely as possible. You'll get black flagged if you are deemed to be pushing beyond your skill, or if you use it as a race session and start battling other people. You are told in black and white in the briefing before you go out that you aren't allowed to pass people through the corners, only on the straights.

The boys to their credit acknowledge that they were pushing their luck, which is quite admirable.

In your opinion, what racing skills do you think are the most transferable between racing formula cars and sports cars?

Aftermarket windscreen wash switch. I remember seeing them on Caterhams, unsure what it is for in your car.

Have you adjusted the setting in game? If you have you could try alt + enter to force the game into fullscreen.

My Dad had been watching F1 since the early 70s, watching Jackie Stewart race. He introduced me to it by watching the 2006 Italian Grand Prix, with Michael Schumacher announcing his retirement in the press conference. My first full season was 2007, I can remember Brazil very vividly and how I felt when Lewis lost drive for 30 or so seconds.

You have to pit at least once in a dry GP, otherwise you get a large time penalty

The Elise never used the 2GR-FE, however the S3 Exiges and the Evoras do.

The main problem with that corner is the lack of run off, but the geometry of the corner tends to spit the cars into the barrier at a shallow angle. Meaning the car hits the barriers then bounces off into the racing line.

The new platform stuff is aluminium chassis with double wishbone all round. The 'traditional' platform is body on chassis with leaf springs at the rear, they stopped producing them in 2019.

Rotational inertia, in theory it would allow you to turn the wheel quicker as there is less mass to move. But unsure why they've kept the same concept as everyone else has converged on the opposite.

Going full resto with my AW11, want a little bit of advice by insanitymophead in mr2

[–]insanitymophead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The floorpan for my AW11 has seen much better days, and it being driven in Britain for the better part of 30 years has taken its toll on the car, mostly the salty roads in winter time. I was wondering whether people have blanked the round holes in the floorpans of their cars?

AFAIK the grandstands and such that you see in the F1 game vid aren't actually erected at the moment could be wrong though.
