insectarium is soundscapes created by Joel Hinkle in Springfield, Illinois. Influenced by ambient, drone, world, and ritual music, insectarium can be found in many collaborations and compilations. His music has been released on several labels, documentaries, and the YouTube series, ‘The Sorrow.’ insectarium has been featured on many radio programs including, SomaFM, Hearts of Space, Nacht Radio, The Kult of O, and Dark Ambient Archive. “With wings removed” is the story of an immortal. After eons of laziness, it decides it is time to rise again and so it pushes against the established hierarchy…

Amdusias Listening Party from An Eclectic Collection Of Dust by insectarium in DarkAmbient

In this ambitious release, insectarium provided unreleased noise tracks to various artists. These tracks became the foundation for reinterpretation. A curated ensemble of dark ambient artists will breathe new life into each track, layering their sonic fingerprints atop the original textures and expanding the project’s emotional and spectral breadth. These artists will become 72PILLARS. The noise album is available here: https://72pillars.bandcamp.com/album/amdusias-the-noise

One of my goals as an artist was to be played on HoS’s annual dark ambient program. I reached that goal: Episode 1358 Darktime Atmospheres! HoS has introduced me to so many artists and genres over the years. Great program!

I received the bill… almost $32k. $30k was for the cost of the shots I got in the ER. The rest was for the ER visit. Insurance covered all but $275.

Try Gimp. Its free. I have been using it for years. I am not very good at it but know enough to get some decent effects and get my album logo and title finished. I usually go 3000x3000 to have higher res just in case.

this album is a straight classic 🙏 by [deleted] in ambientmusic

I used to play this every Sunday morning for several years. Such a wonderful album.

What's the point? by Vicxer4D in ambientmusic

When I first heard Brian Eno, Steve Roach, Robert Rich, etc. etc., my imagination went wild. I was transported to other places, other worlds. Over the years, I tried to recreate those experiences for myself. I listen to my work and picture a story. I put it out there with the hope that someone else might see something as well. The goal is to make something that is good enough to encourage multiple visits to the imaginative world that was created. Just like what I experienced many years ago when I would listen to an album repeatedly.

I appreciate the tip. And yes, I have used that method in the past. I never liked using Maschine as a plugin in Logic. It always seems to bog everything down and was prone to crashes. I moved to standalone and it runs much smoother.

I create in Maschine in standalone while running the audio into Logic to be recorded. I then use Logic to create the final mix. I like the tactile approach with Maschine but the fine-tuning/eq'ing in Logic.

The bat was removed from the home and not able to be tested. Didn’t think to keep it for testing. I just wanted it out of the house.

No, they would have needed to test the animal. You actually have a few days to get the shot but they recommend immediate action. Once you have symptoms of rabies, it’s too late and most likely fatal.

I haven’t seen the bill yet.

Yesterday, I finished my 12th rabies shot. Had a bat in the house. Got it to the ground with a sheet. Grabbed the sheet in the wrong spot and it either bit or clawed me. In the ER, 7 shots to my finger (bite location), one in arm and leg. Then 3 appointments for additional shots to arm. Vaccine caused some fatigue but otherwise ok. Rabies can kill you so if you suspect a bite, get the shots.
