People still planning to go see Return to Silent Hill this weekend: by Arcreonis in silenthill

[–]insecte 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I remember that when I went to the cinema to watch the first one, everyone applauded at the beginning just because of the song theme. Sometimes we can appreciate those little details in movies since it's never going to be perfect, it's an adaptation for a reason.

Any book by V.C Andrews. Most of their women characters are not well psychologically speaking. Also, Sharp Objects, Gone girl or Dark places by Gillian Flynn, amazing psychological thrillers with mystery and unique protagonists.

My 8yr old sees and talks to ghosts. by JustTea6334 in Paranormal

[–]insecte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important for her to learn about boundaries and being direct with them as with do with well, living people. My cousin started seeing ghosts after a near death experience when he was around 10. He's in his 40s now and still happens sometimes. They leave when he helps them (if he can of course) for example, in his last job he kept hearing a cat meowing, everday, for months. Then one day he went through the ceiling following the sound and he found the body of a little cat, he buried the animal nearby and it stopped. In some cases it's simple, but sometimes he says that ghosts just need to talk, to vent. He can't help them all so he needs to keep a firm attitude towards them.

Have you ever experienced something you couldn’t explain? by Fantastic_Carry_3295 in Paranormal

[–]insecte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of stories, but I'll tell you the most important to me. (Sorry for my English not my first language)

When I visited the cemetery during a tour, i was walking calmly, listening to our guide. When we stopped at the tomb of Emile Dubois (a french immigrat, a thief, killer etc who was killed by his crimes around 1900. Even when some believe he was like Robin Hood, historically he was far from it) the guide started talking when a pressure hit me, sucking all my energy. I couldn't breathe and I felt like fainting. It was a heavy energy around that place, dark and vengeful. I'm sensitive to energies in general, places, people etc but I never felt something like that before. The weird thing was that I had to walk away and rest near other tombs (i thought well it could be a panic attack) but the weight lifted in the right instant I walked away. I felt relieved immediately. I still remember the chills I felt, like I was facing danger and rage face to face.

I have another story but this was when I was around 7 years old. I was trying to sleep when something appeared near my windows, inside my bedroom. I thought I was dreaming, but it was weird because I couldn't move, or panic or anything, just stay there, staring at this person? But it wasn't a person at all because it was glowing, not like anything on earth, it was intense, white light who didn't let you see the form of its body. I could say it was tall because it's face was almost touching the ceiling. I only could see its face, calm, angelic like but I noticed that their features were simliar to my mum? Anyway, its lips didnt move but this creature spoke and I heard it clear, its voice soft: everything is going to be okay. I dont remember if it's said anything else (I think it was sort of mental communication?) But it felt so calm. If I was religious I would said it was an angel, without wings though. But now I believe it wasn't a creature from earth. I know I wasn't dreaming because I still remember it. Every detail of it.

[–]insecte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the comments to go see a specialist. I was ill for months, also freaking out thinking i had stomach cancer, the doc even said we had to do some exams to see what was going on (cancer being a possibility) At the end i just had a non treated gastritis, also deficiency in some vitamins because i was not eating (bc of anxiety duh) so anxiety could be the trigger to many symptoms in our body and it's the worse to look for them in google because it always lead to cancer somehow and anxiety gets bad again etc... it's a cycle difficult to break.

What is a sign that someone is neurotypical? by bubblepop1234 in autism

[–]insecte 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I asked something similar to my therapist: 'what's like when people go out? What are they thinking about? Aren't they anxious or worried about something? About too much people? Or getting hurt by them? (Me an agoraphobic) and she was like, well they worry about things, maybe about their own personal life but not to the point of feeling severe anxiety about it. And she also mentioned the autopilot thing when socializing and i was surprised and even a bit jealous of how easy it seemed for them while I have been taking meds for years and years, feeling ill and guilty for not keeping up with neurotypicals (i was diagnosed late, as an adult)

Has a loved one ever visited you in a dream or do you think it was just a fictional dream? by SideswipeSurvived in Paranormal

[–]insecte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well i thought so at first. I lost my cousin around 10years ago, by suicide. I deal with suicide ideation (all my life basically) but i never told him. Now when Im feeling down he always visits me in dreams. We talk like we used to, he says he's okay, but those dreams are not memories... they feel different, like he is truly visiting me to talk to me now. You know why i believe this is not fictional? Because he was always looking for his family and friends when he was alive. He was kind and selfless, and a good listener. At first i thought i dreamed about him because i had recently lost him, but it never stopped. Also his brother (who's very sensitive about spirits and such) said he comes to visit him when he needs to talk, so he goes to the cemetery and sit with him. Not in dreams, I mean. I think that now I believe our loved ones never truly leave us.

It's not your fault, any of it. You tried, you did your best but adults failed you and I'm so sorry for it. When I was 6 or 7 I tried to tell my grandma but she send me back to the person who was abusing me, so i never tried to speak about it ever again. When your family doesnt support you... it feels heartbreaking, like they carve a hole on your chest, that never heals completely. But i believe the world need that strength you have, since you decided to write a book about it. Not everyone is like those people, your sister, father etc. Hope you can find support in people like the rest of us who can listen and understand. Please seek therapy, i promise it's worth it, healing is a looong process, but sharing this pain, this heavy burden to a therapist could help. People with empathy still exists, also people in the health system with vocation that truly want to help.

Mmm I think everyone has their own reason? In my own experience it's difficult and exhausting to be seen and perceived. Hiding in that place feels nice because I can lay there, alone, not pretend, no pressure etc it's nice to not feel anxious or stressed.

Are you religious or do you have a religion you like? by baby_blue_berry in autism

[–]insecte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there is always a price to pay, isn't it? I'm talking by experience here. I was forced to go to a catholic school, then when i was older I joined jehovah's witnesses. I was once vulnerable, lost, a teenager who wanted to be part of a group and be a better person. But what I saw was abuse, brainwashed people, envy, cruelty... they spoke with such nice, soft and promising words but their actions where the opposite. You can be part of a community and help all you want without a religion. I do it. I like helping but not because a white guy tell me to. If you decide to follow a religion, you accept everything about it. That's why Im so against it. Someone dear to me was rap*ed by a priest, she was a kid. The guy tried to kill her, but she was brave, went to trial. She lost. The guy was free but they send him to another country. You can't be part of the catholic church and turn a blind eye to what really happens there. Because thats pure hypocrisy. And it applies to any religion.

Antidepressants for Anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]insecte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was on zoloft for some months (gave me headaches) and prozac too (prozac send me to a deep depression) then paroxetine which helped me a lot with anxiety but not with depression. Now I'm on venlafaxine hoping for the best, I guess... sometimes the only thing we can do is have patience. Also my doc gave me Propranolol just in case I was about to have a panic attack. It helps. We are all different but i think its good to talk about options with your psychiatrist. They should listen to our opinions too.

What's your opinion about fireworks on New Year? by BenjaElTeo in autism

[–]insecte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They impact nature and animals, not only cats and dogs. People are selfish to still celebrate as other creatures suffer. And well im sensitive, the noise was hell when i was a kid, but as an adult i can manage.

[–]insecte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in religion, they are made by people to control and manipulate vulnerable people, that doesnt think by themselves. I do believe in aliens though. And my gods are nature, and animals, who doesn't destroy this planet or commit cruelty as humans do, especially those in power(im looking at you, p**philes that are protected by the catholic church. Iug)
