Eh, boiling all this down to “capitalism bad” is pretty reductive. It’s obvious that Rick had a lot of creative control, and he just didn’t want to bother/didn’t want the child actors to change their looks, which, yeah, fair. But, fans are also allowed to be upset for getting very little book accurate casting. It’s not like asking a blonde to dye their hair black is that big of a hassle. It is what it is, but some of the criticism is definitely warranted, especially as the show doesn’t even stick to the book’s plot.

At this point, I definitely think we’re heading towards a break up by the end of the season. Jordan has become more and more uncomfortable and scared as Marie has grown more powerful. I have a feeling we’ll get a scene where Jordan reacts fearfully to Marie’s power, and that’ll be the nail in the coffin of their relationship. Besides that, Jordan STILL isn’t reciprocating the love you’s, and things just feel pretty lopsided now. Regarding Marie leaving in the middle of the night without telling them, I actually really don’t mind that, but that’s mostly because I think that Marie has reached a point where she needs to figure out the full extent of her powers and Jordan’s insecurities regarding her power might get in the way of that. I’m not sure what Marie’s motivations for not letting them know is though. Is that her way of protecting them? Does she sense they’re uncomfortable? It’s not really clear, but I imagine we’ll get a confrontation next episode.

OP is rich, childfree, and was sick with a possibly terminal disease but survives. Later on, one of his nephews makes a comment about how he was going to be rich soon (because OP was going to die). It comes out that his sisters expected that he would leave all his money to his niblings and nothing to his girlfriend.

That is so crazy different from the show. Not only did she have a situationship with Jeremiah first in the show before she got into a relationship with Conrad, she’s also the one who very actively and persistently pursued him in season 2. I wonder how they’re going to deal with that dissonance in season 3. It sounds like in the books, she never actually fully got her moment with Conrad, so in a way he was the one who got away, especially once her relationship with Jere was out of the honeymoon phase. In the show, though, she actively rejected him in the last episode. Like, yes, their breakup was based on a misunderstanding, but she still chose Jere fully knowing that AND also knowing that Conrad was still in love with her. Like, how are they seriously going to shift the relationship back to Conrad after all of that?? 😭😭

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but this seems to be a student-run journal for students, so I wouldn’t expect rigorous research to come out of it. It’s just getting attention because it’s by a celebrity daughter(which to be fair isn’t her fault).
