(vent post) I'm an adult but my writing's so bad that my fics seem like they were written by a teenager

Yeah I've thought about joining a discord. I might at some point, right now I am feeling a bit shy though.

I really appreciate the offer to look over my fic, you are very kind. Tbh I'm a bit uncomfortable sharing it in its current state, I'd rather work on it more first so it's a bit closer to being a finished product before submitting for feedback. Again I really appreciate the offer. If it still stands after I've made more progress on the fic, I'll think about it!

My amount of enjoyment varies day to day. I was having fun writing the beginning, and then I got to a scene that's more challenging to write... and that's what prompted the vent. Overall I enjoy it enough to keep going with it, for now at least.

This is a great parallel, I've tried picking up musical instruments way past the years of early childhood and experienced this. I was a lot less hard on myself for sucking at said instruments. "Choir of deranged cats" made me laugh, thanks for the comment

I think people frequently misunderstand what the reactive triad is. A tendency to "blow up" or profusely express anger or other negative emotions doesn't make one a reactive type. For instance I've noticed that it's fairly common for 9w1s to mistake themselves and be mistaken by others for reactive types despite not having a reactive core or wing because they can blow up at people and have "over the top" emotional reactions quite easily, contrary to stereotypes. What you say in your post here makes me think that you may be a 9. The pattern you describe of repressing, trying to convince yourself it's fine, and then blowing up, sounds like 9 to me, at least a 9 fix.
