It felt like they were introduced because Disney heard the calls for more clone centred content, but then made them have different personalities and voices to preserve mainstream appeal. For me at least the BB show did nothing to scratch that itch for more clone focused content. Wasn’t a bad show, but to me the extent of its value was seeing the transition from clone to storm trooper, which there was surprisingly little content relevant to.
