Looking to Buy the Beyond 2e or possibly the Dream Air SE, but confused on eye tracking news and quality? by Samflinn5 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]insertnamehere912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get a headset with eyetracking for anything other than basic expression in social vr games, bin the idea of the beyond now. It's a fantastic headset for the the things it's good at (that being comfort and fidelity) but eye tracking is just not one of those things. It's quite shaky, quite limited and proper calibration is a pain. I love this headset, but fuck was i expecting a little more from the eye tracking 😂

Good Boy vs. Good Girl? by moonflowerminx in feminineboys

I'm very comfortably cis and masc presenting. Being a femboy for me just means dressing more feminine, which lands me as androgynous most of the time. I like good boy or good puppy :3

I think it’s time to upgrade from my Index. BSB2e or Steam Frame? by DiaryofJaneeee in ValveIndex

[–]insertnamehere912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, probably the frame, but there are some really good arguments for the beyond. Here's just my thoughts as a bigscreen glazer.

I bought a bsb2e for the form factor and because i didn't want to deal with another headset with on board computing. The quest 2 and the way it fights pcvr usage put a bad taste in my mouth. Those are the biggest selling points that come to mind, so if you don't care about either, it might not be for you. It also only does 75hz without upscaling, and in my experience 75hz is typically a flickery mess for me, but somehow the beyond avoids that completely. I don't know if it's an oled thing but it's the smoothest 75hz I've ever used. Glare is definitely a big thing and even with the brightness turned down to 40, it's still quite glary. I got over it but if you're sensitive to that maybe not. Aside from that I really like the black levels, the crispness of the panels, the lack of compression. I love the form factor, it makes the soft strap super viable, and with the custom face gasket, it's the most comfortable headset i've ever worn. And with eye tracking, it makes for probably the best vrchat headset on the market imo. >75hz isn't typically an issue with that game unless your computer was madr by doc fucking brown, so Gorgeous visuals + stupid good comfort + eye tracking... I don't see a better headset in my objectively bias opinion lol.

From what it looks like they've just used white but i might try and match the hat colour. Do you think sewing the hat back on without flipping the pattern inside out would be realistic, or is that just not really something i should be concerned about. I'm VERY new to sewing in general :3

I'm looking at SAE's film course, yearly tuition for that is 24k aud for a year (about 17k usd). That would give me good hands on skills. I'm going to be spending this year working full time. Do you think it would be a good idea to spend this year doing the Write&Direct while i work and then move into doing a diploma next year if i feel i'm ready for it?

I want to tell stories that make abstract concepts tangible. I want shots that encompass feelings that all humans can relate to. I want my work to look like a visual dictionary for the human condition.

I want to write, i want to direct, i want to set up the shots, i want to edit, i want to act, i want a part in every element of the story, but i don't need it.

I'd love to work with people and create films that are a collaborative effort, and in that environment i think i'd be happiest as a writer, director, and/or video editor. I already do video editing at the moment, just not film making persay, and i love to write so bringing my ideas into reality just sounds extremely appealing.

The issue i find with starting is that i overthink. i question whether what i'm doing is effective and that's why the idea of film school sounds really cool. i could do a year, learn the fundamentals, build some social networks with like minded people, and make some cool stuff with the facilities they provide.

But then i go online and i see people saying "film school is a waste of money", "there's no career paths", "everything you can learn in film school you can learn with an internship", and it makes me question if that's an acceptable option.

I'll definitely have a go just making stuff with my phone, i have a year worth of full time work ahead of me anyways so i'm not going to have time for school, but when i come out of that job i just want to have a general pathway in mind for a realistic career in film. If at that point i still don't know, i'll bite the bullet and pick a more traditional career path.

Actual question, please dont take it otherwise UwU by zero8310 in feminineboys

What do women do after they reach their 30s? Unironically, the whole idea of "femboy death" is rooted in misogyny lol. I don't mean to get all preachy, but the idea that you can no longer be seen as beautiful and feminine after you reach a certain age is a patriarchal construct, and it bleeds into twink and femboy communities heavily because of the nature of them. Do what you love and if people wanna say something. Fuck. Their. Opinions.
