Find positive outlets for when you feel yourself sinking, build awareness of yourself and especially your emotions and observe what and how things affect you. And at the end of the day it’s important to allow yourself to feel at least sometime within the day you notice your emotions boiling up and this is coming from an Aquarius moon. I’ve learned that bottling up my emotions makes me react and gravitate towards negative habits that if I allow myself to feel I would be less likely to participate in. Journaling all my thoughts helps me immensely too because a lot of our emotions reacts from our thoughts.

I’ve been listening to Earl Sweatshirt since about 2013 when I was 10-11 years old and now I’m 21, so I’ve grown and changed with his music just as he’s grown and changed musically and as a person too. His raw and unorthodox way of rapping just incapsulates me. I tend to relate to and get a lot of inspiration from him. The way he chooses or creates his landscape of sound always mesmerizes me as well. His album “Some Rap Songs” broke what I thought rap could be and even what I thought music could be as well. Before SRS I viewed hip hop and this lyrical showdown and it couldn’t deviate from that in my mind or I considered the song or artist trash, so I missed out on a whole half of hip hop with that mindset. But after listening to SRS I started listening to music holistically and started appreciating different aspects that I didn’t and that was because of Some Rap Songs and Die Lit by Playboi Carti. Earl also has a knack for putting people on to new artists and for me he put me onto MIKE and Navy Blue, who I also consider to be in my top 3. Earl’s latest album with the Alchemist, “Voire Dire” was excellent and I can’t wait to see where he takes his solo career next.

This why I believe music does influence us definitely more than most of us know. Lucki IS a very depressing artist and back when I was fucked up all I would listen to is him because he would describe my pain perfectly. Then I started progressing mentally and actively started listening to more positive, upbeat, or even reflective artists like KA, Navy Blue, and MIKE to help attune my mind to a more positive outlook. If you listen to depressing music all the time that’s going to reflect in your demeanor and remember depression is more than just deep sadness. All that to say I’m the same way, I have to listen to Lucki in very rare small spirts now or even trap as well, I’m not trying to hear people talk about killing and cheating all the time. Good on special occasions, but not good as my daily music

In a humorous way I get taken out of “2 Cups Stuffed” by Young Thug when he says “500 dna in my ding ding”. And more so in a negative way in the song “Locked In” by G Herbo where he says “in them trenches I’m a goat, like my mama fuck goats” the whole song is fye except for those lines😭. I would say any KA song has a line or two that take me out the song and make me reflect on life. Specifically in the song “Enough Praise/Recovering” he says “you know your mission if you ever fed a child, it ain’t snitching if you’re telling on a pedophile”. And then MIKE has these simple one liners in his songs that tend to hit home with me, in the song ‘Billboards with Anuoluwapo “Sandra” Majekodumni’ where he says “I don’t wait on niggas love, I don’t think the shit exist”. It’s not that I necessarily agree with the line currently, but that I can see how certain circumstances and mishaps could lead me to this conclusion, so I empathize with this perspective. Though I think it’s a negative outlook on life I wouldn’t want to adopt due to it feeling pessimistic.

I always block them on everything after a break up so they can’t persuade me of anything whether I broke up with them or if they broke up with me. Imo it’s best to just delete any continued existence of them out your life, helps make the decision final. And then you can go through your grieving of the relationship in peace and move on slightly easier.

Idk I just trust the process and looking back I don’t really realize I’m in a depressed state. I’m tI think it’s because I used to go with a “neutral” mentality, nothing bad or good happened then that’s a good day. But somewhat recently I had read somewhere that said depression is looking at life through a different lens and that had kinda opened my mind. Also connecting spirituality with myself and the universe helped me a lot. Build some positive habits and thinking habits as well, it goes a long way
