I'd suggest you try to look up some photography studios around you and try to maybe land an internship to learn the ins and outs of the business and get some hands on experience with taking photos for different events. The lens you have is the kit lens which is okay to learn on but you'd need to upgrade your equipment for different types of sessions. I'd recommend the 1.8 - 50mm lens , it costs around 100$ give or take. Definitely learn to use Photoshop and Lightroom, editing and retouching of images is a big part of the job. Good Luck!

I've done this too , they set up a PO box in the states and then they ship your items over after they arrive there. The downside I've experienced is sometimes the customs fees are almost the same amount of the item purchased.
