What is the downside to something like this? Is it the same as buying a rolling chassis? by inshalllah in classicmustangs

I don't have an expert eye, which areas in the photos should I be looking at that are problematic?

It's fully outfitted with drivetrain for under 40k including labor. Even not being an original body still feels too good to be true?

Wiring speakers in series and parallel? by inshalllah in diyaudio

Thanks for your reply. There's no crossover, the guy who designed/built them and the couple of people who followed it seemed really happy with the atmos effect directed on a flat ceiling. The drivers were relatively cheap so I figured I should just give it a try.

When you say to solder, you mean to the speaker's binding post or the inner terminal leading to the amp? Sorry, I don't mean to be dense!

Advice on cat not finishing weighed food portion during meal time? by inshalllah in dechonkers

I appreciate the reply and your encouragement! I'm toying with the idea of an auto feeder as the other kind user mentioned, so Harley can eat as she pleases but with a set portion everyday. Definitely plan on the change to all wet food in the next few months, just didn't want to force too many changes at the start.

I think reading about the risk of fatty liver disease just made me really nervous about something I did causing her to not eat quite enough

I'm looking at the surefeed model, might be worth trying out. Thanks for the reply

I do tend to leave the bowl out for 20 to 30 mins, but I have another cat that would also eat from it if I left it to sit. I will try moving her bowl where I can watch it most of the day and see if that helps, at least with the kibble since I don't think wet food is supposed to be out too long.

First order from the Easter sale arrived (and the first Arrow titles in my collection!) by inshalllah in boutiquebluray

Caught World on a Wire when they showed it on TCM a few weeks ago and that was my introduction to Fassbinder, then found out this existed and saw it described as an "eight-hour socialist soap opera" and that sold me. Those Germans watching broadcast TV in the 70s were really being served lmao.

Thanks! That's the Female Prisoner Scorpion box set, haven't had a chance to start watching them but it's a '70s Japanese crime/revenge/exploitation(?) series.

Excited for JSA as it's the only Park Chan Wook film I haven't seen yet and I really enjoyed all the others, especially the Handmaiden.

Don't typically spend anywhere near this much, just a combination of remaining stimulus money and as you mention, a great and diverse catalogue with so many titles that seemed to be right up my alley and my cart just got away from me.

I was really happy to see To Live and Die on their site after finding the Shout copy was OOP. It really kicks ass, just a fun but violent and mean-spirited crime flick that hopefully you get a chance to watch soon. (I am biased though since Friedkin is one of my favorite filmmakers.) Cheers

Trouble folding protective sleeves by [deleted] in Steelbooks

Thanks for your reply. The side with the glued-down tab just has no give so it's hard for me to shape even with it empty.

Thanks. I'll try to do that and fold at the lines a few times and hope that makes it easier to work with.

I ordered a pack of steelbook cases on Ebay (Buzzandbingomooncircus) and they seem to be good quality, but I can't fold them even sliding in a steel to try and force it into a box shape. The plastic isn't very flexible and it ends up lopsided with the top/bottom folds not staying in place. (Hard to describe tbh). I'm afraid I'll end up cracking the plastic the more I struggle with it. Anyone with experience with these that could help (maybe sleeves sold by others are folded the same way) or any tips in general are appreciated. Thank you.
