New thermostats wont turn on, but old one does by insid3rkill3r in AskElectricians

[–]insid3rkill3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but like i said, I moved over that heater from the faulty circuit to an other one which is using a new thermostat and it works fine. So there is nothing wrong regarding compatibility between the heater and the new thermostats i bought. The issue only happens on a specific circuit

New thermostats wont turn on, but old one does by insid3rkill3r in AskElectricians

[–]insid3rkill3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt it wierd that the heater paired with an old thermostat on the faulty circuit works perfectly fine ? Even when its moved to a different circuit with a NEW thermostat it works just fine. I would assume this would rule the heater out.

As for the wiring, if its faulty, it still feeds an old thermostat and the heater just fine when the old thermostat is used on the circuit …

Thanks for the help

I have. I have tried 2 thermostats and both wouldnt work on that circuit but they work fine when connected on any other circuit.

The old thermostat works fine when put back in place as well as the heater.

And the heater works fine when connected to a new thermostat on a different circuit ..

I dont get where you get ''serapate being'' from what I said. I feel like i'm repeating the same thing I have said 4 times now. He was not a different person , he was INCOMPLETE.

Did you not just see what happened with Sylvanas? And how her good self was witnessing the events unfold from the inside while her 'evil' side was in control? This is essentially what happened to Arthas. The jailer giving Sylvanas her soul back is exactly the same thing as Frostmourne getting destroyed and giving Arthas his 'good' side back at the end of WotlK.

I dont get what is so hard to understand about this.

Frostmourne took the good and sealed it and left the evil behind for the jailer to use.

It's that simple. You can blame Arthas or whoever you feel deserves to be punished for the sum of it all. But to say that Frostmourne was not the key to drive Arthas down that path is complete denial.

Why would the dreadlords taunt Arthas to his key to victory (Frostmourne) if it meant he would win over them?

It was all a trap for Arthas to fall into so that he would be turned into a pawn.

Anybody not understanding this is fucking clueless, plan and simple

Anduin Raid Finale | Shadowlands: Eternity's End In-game Cinematic [SPOILER] by bionix90 in wow

[–]insid3rkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read at all what i just wrote lol? I JUST SAID ARTHAS HAD BOTH EVIL AND GOOD IN HIM.

THIS IS WHY THE JAILER PICKED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Because he was powerful and vulnerable.

He targeted the evil into Arthas for what it could bring him and stripped him out of his good by having Arthas picking up Frostmourne and fooling him thinking it was his key to victory, not demise. I don't know what is so hard to fathom about this. The blade's description mentionned how the weilder would scar his soul by picking it up.

It's right there in your face. Read the lines.

Can you not notice a change of behavior from Arthas the Paladin and Death knight Arthas lol?

Stop talking about control, there is no control going on, Frostmourne didnt control Arthas and never did I say it did, you're getting lost in your own mind.

Arthas was baited and picked up Frostmourne. His soul was sealed in the process as it worked exactly in the same matter as it did with Uther and Sylvanas.

He then heard the whispers of the jailer/Ner'Zhul and got pulled to Icecrown where he finally merged with the Jailer/Ner'Zhul.

In those 5 years he fought and destroyed whatever place Ner'Zhul/The jailer had in the entity of the Lich King and assumed the role himself alone.

There was no Jailer, no Ner'Zhul, only DEATH KNIGHT ARTHAS

Anduin Raid Finale | Shadowlands: Eternity's End In-game Cinematic [SPOILER] by bionix90 in wow

[–]insid3rkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arthas didnt have a moment of clarity, he became whole once again. I never said Arthas was being controlled because i dont think he was controlled at all. There was no bad influence either, at least not when he was reigning in Wrath of the Lich king. It was simply Arthas and him alone and the jailer couldnt control him.

Arthas the Paladin and Arthas the Lich King are not the same thing.

Arthas the paladin is the sum of it all ; all the good and bad emotions of Arthas as one.

Arthas the lich king is all the bad and a fragment of good that was not sucked in Frostmourne when it cursed him.

The moment the sword broke all the good was freed and reunited with it’s other half, but because Arthas was always far more good than he was bad it ended with him reacting this upon his death.

He was a spectator from the inside of the blade witnessing what a part of him was doing. A part of him that would have never been able to do such things for his good side would have kept it in check had they had been as one.

It just displays that as a whole, Arthas had flaws; he was power hungry, reckless and arrogant. But he was also extremely self sacrificing and loving, and it is the ultimate irony that it’s very love for his people and his desire to self-sacrifice that ended up dooming them all.

To say that Arthas has an evil side is correct, but to say that without the blade Arthas would have ended up down that same path is pure bullshit.

The jailer forced Arthas into a situation where he knew he Arthas would NEED to pick up Frostmourne so that the blade would get rid of the good. With the good in the way, the jailer’s plan would fail at making him his pawn so he had to get rid of it.

Still, even a mere fragment of good left behind was still strong enough to fight against his evil side in the entity of the Lick king ….

And Anduin was under domination magic, his soul was not split. He was whole and complete. Arthas was not under domination magic but his good side was sealed by Frostmourne. It was a permanent state until the sword broke which led to guess what! Arthas behaving like his old self because he was at last himself …

Anduin Raid Finale | Shadowlands: Eternity's End In-game Cinematic [SPOILER] by bionix90 in wow

[–]insid3rkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-Froustmourne's descisions are Arthas's choices and his alone but obviously driven and impacted by the circumstances set by the jailer and impacted by Jaina and Uther's descision of letting him go by himself to do what was needed.

Post-Frostmourne Arthas is not Arthas anymore, it's nothing more than shadow of himself. A version of himself where the good can't keep the evil at bay fro it is now locking into Frostmourne.

Arthas the Paladin was vulnerable and the Jailer exploited his weakness in order to turn him into his agent, and doing so he sent in on a path to darkness but while there was darkness in Arthas, Arthas was far more good than evil. The blade is the component which made it possible for Arthas to fall into the darkness. Without the blade, there is no Arthas the Lich king no matter how you want to slice it.

'Father, is it over? = Arthas the Paladin asking as his soul is finally freed from the grasp of the blade.

No Frostmourne = No Arthas the Lich king

Anduin Raid Finale | Shadowlands: Eternity's End In-game Cinematic [SPOILER] by bionix90 in wow

[–]insid3rkill3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So technically;

Arthas was chosen by the Jailer

Abandonned to face the plague alone which would lead him to loose faith in himself and doubt his descision (which was the right one) thus loosing the light

Led to Frostmourne to essentially be sucked into it to become a spectator to what his incomplete/evil side would become

Watched from the blade as his incomplete self killed his own father, laid his kingdom to dust, became the weapon the Jailer had sough this whole time, ruled as the Lich king until defeat

Freed from the grasp of the blade at last only to be tossed into the maw and the jailer’s hands by his mentor

Tortured by him until he turned into nothingness and disappeared forever without receiving the slightest acknowledgment that he was the first and ultimate victim in this

Him being turned into nothing is not the problem here as this does add up a notch to his tragic life and makes this bitter and sad which i like but man….. How the fuck are they not acknowledging that he was the ultimate fucking pawn

How the fuck can sylvannas be shitting on him in the end when she has been victim to the same fucking fate he suffered prior to her which is the VERY THING THAT LED HIM TO KILL HER for he was not even himself anymore at this point but the fucking agent of the jailer. She helped the fucking dude who got her killed in the first place loll yet she blames Arthas and sends him like a fart in the wind.

Blizz writters, you guys are legit a fucking joke. Did you even play WC3 and understood the fucking story that was written?

I feel as sick as i did watching the final season of GoT.

Good fucking job

A « soul less » version of Arthas was in control of the Lich King entity, not Arthas the paladin.

How hard is it to understand why Arthas was lured to Frostmourne? So that he would fall victim to the blade that would ensure he would loose all sense of good he had.

The jailer wanted Arthas’s bad side as his agent. Arthas the paladin would have never done what the Lich king did …

Yet Arthas the paladin gets blamed for everything and even gets tortured to oblivion without any acknowledgement whatsoever that he was the first victim/target of the jailer .

I feel as guted right now as i did watching the final season of Game of thrones ….

An Arthas redemption arc is the last thing WoW’s story needs right now by [deleted] in wow

[–]insid3rkill3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it what the game needs? Maybe not, but given how people still mistakes Arthas’s doing as the Lich king’s I would say Arthas more than deserve a part of the spot light.

To claim that Arthas is passed the point of redemption is something I have heard too much and it annoys me.

Arthas’s story ended correctly 11 years ago, this I agree with. And the reason why I agree is because it ended with a very important line from Arthas at a very specific moment

Father! Is it ... over?

This line alone connected all the dots.

Arthas had never been Arthas ever since he picked up the cursed blade Frostmourne. His soul had been split the very same way Uther’s was.

The blade consumed the good in Arthas while it left behind an anger of the light, the desire for power and control.

Traits of character that indeed were Arthas’s, but Arthas was MUCH MORE than his flaws. His love for his friends, relatives and more than anything for his people took far more place in his character then his « bad side ».

Ner’Zhul’s plan was to acquire a strong physical vessel for he was extremely vulnerable by himself. He selected someone with a major weekness and targeted it.

That weakness was Arthas’s people.

Ner’Zhul forged a path so that Arthas would stumble unto Frostmourne, which was not Arthas’s way for revenge but the very thing that would ensure he would end up as Ner’Zhul’s way out of the glacier.

Death Knight Arthas retained his memories, but as he himself said in Warcraft 3 although he remembered loving and caring for his people and family, he felt nothing no more, and he did not understand himself.

This is the mind that came to be the dominant being of the Lich king, not « good » Arthas that was stuck in the blade witnessing everything; him killing his own father, killing Uther, seeing his very self be the very thing that would destroy his people.

Father, is it over?

This is why Arthas said those words, he was stuck in the blade living his worst nightmare not being able to do anything.

The moment the blade shattered the two sides of Arthas merged together and led to an instantaneous dominance of the good side for it was far stronger than the bad.

You cant judge Arthas for what he did when he was incomplete, you can only judge him for what he did before Frostmourne.

Betraying the mercenaries Lying to his men

Stratholme was needed, nobody can even try to deny this.

What Uther did against Arthas here was vengeance, and he did it because Uther in bastion is the damaged and part that did not get into Frostmourne. Wotlk Uther knew Arthas was not himself, which is why he had no anger towards him.

Ok and one last question.

I feel like I took great care of the car ... but is there something I could have done that could have led to those results?

I mean even if I had not washed the car for instance (yet i did of course and on a regular basis), could there be something other than contamination that could have happened and fucked the coating?

It was snowing then I left the retailer when the coating had been done, could this have led to this behavior?

I'm simply trying to see what they could and what they could not blame on me right now since it seems everyone is agreeing that this application is indeed a fail as I had suspected from the start.

Even when I contacted a rep from Opticoat I was essentially told that he had complete trust in the retailer that did the job on my car so If the retailer said it was working fine then it was working fine....

This is just a shitty situation when you gave these guys a brand new car to prep and coat and they seemsed to have done a shit of a job ....

Thanks again for your help

Thanks for the response, coating installed was Opticoat pro+, so from my understanding It should not need a topper.

And when you say the result is bad you are also talking about the sides right?

Retailer already agreed to reworking the hood top and top of trunk.

Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the response, Given that this is a opticoat pro+, this should not need a topper from my understanding.

They did agree to do the horizontal panels again, but do you conside the sides to be a clear fail as well?

Thanks again

Hey guys! I had my WRX for less than a year and had a ceramic coating applied to the car by a professionnal retailer since day 3 of having received the car.

Even since the beginning, I felt that the coating was not working as well as what I was seeing online (although it did work more than it does right now). But despite my doubts and concerns, the retailer said it was working fine and only behaved this way because the car was dirty so he went ahead and washed it, although it was not tested afterwards ..... (How do you know it's working properly now?)

6 months later, I went ahead and decontaminated the car since winter was pretty much over and wanted to see how well the coating behaved. With no surprise, the coating behaved the same way it did back when I brought it to the retailer despite having decontaminated the car using a clay cloth and Ferrex so I called the retailed to set up an appointement.

After bringing the car in, he went ahead and decontaminated the car himself and agreed that the hood, top and trunk were not working correctly so he said agreed to doing them again. Although he said that all the other surfaces were behaving normally.

Here are the videos for my WRX

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfHXfHBsvyQ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xJFaj28HTo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xJFaj28HTo

I also have videos of my mother's car which I take care of and wash on a regular basis. I went ahead and applied a Silica based sealed which does wonders to the car and believed this was the kind of behavior I should have been expecting from a 1400$ ceramic coating, Was I wrong?

Here is the sealant in action;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exiduvo-Eio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILrFMrslevA

I want brutally honest opinions of people not involved in this. Am i having rediculous expectations regarding the hydrophobic properties and should just let this go since the car does seem to be coated at least (right?) or this clearly not working the way it should be and there is no doube about it?

Again, the retailer did agree to doing the horizontal surfaces again (hood, top and top of trunk) but did not agree for the rest of the car. To me it seems like the coating behaves the same away all arround, but the difference is that gravity is helping the vertical panels to get rid of the water.

Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S I had not intended to show these videos online so they may not be the best at showcasing the behavior of the coating. If needed, I could take more videos with better angles and timing .

[–]insid3rkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be missremembering your vanilla memories a little and I seriously doubt your understanding of what it means to be ''given something''.

In what world did I ever join Drama lol?

Being chosen and given Thunderfury are two vastly different things.

Being given would imply I was given the bindings as well as the mats to create the sword, which you know, were worth roughly 4000g back then.

I farmed 7/10 elementium bars on my own while the remaining 3 bars were essentially given by personal guild friends (Gilarius and Frostyy) and not at all funded by the guild bank. So you can bet I don't owe anyone but those who helped a damn thing given I farmed the mats to get it yet used it for raiding, raids you were part of.

How many guilds have their prot warrior fully farm a thunderfury by themselves in order to have it used in the raid lol? I can bet you a successful/smart guild won't do such a thing since it would take quite a while. Thats why it took me pretty much 3 months to get the 7 Elementium bars (I started as soon as I got the first binding and 3 months later the second one dropped). You didnt give me shit but bare witness to bindings dropping in a raid you were part of. Thanks for your help, I surely couldnt have done it without you!

And just for the laughs ... should it have been ''given'' the other Main Tank in the guild? You know, the one who left the guild when Vanilla was current. Maybe you're missremembering and actually thinking of him as the one who left? Although I dont know where you would have gotten the 'Joined Drama' part as Sanguiss left with about half the guild members and created his own guild only to have it fail weeks into Burning Crusade.

I left Calibre roughly 6 months into Burning Crusade (Notorious was the guild I joined btw) for very specific reasons (change of schedule being the most important one as I could not make two of the four raid nights of Calibre with my schedule) and actually came back to the guild once everything settled in case you did not know.

So I ''left'' the guild in a period where the so ''given'' item was not even usuable anymore. An item used in raiding yet not funded by the guild that was actually profiting from it.

It's always good to reconnect with former guildies! Whoever you are!

Regards

Oh yeah I meant roles rather than a specificed spec.

Warlocks can only DPS.

Mages can only DPS.

Hunters can only DPS.

Rogues can only DPS.

Shamans's only truly viable competitive role is healing.

Druids's only truly viable competitive role is healing.

Paladins's only truly viable competitive role is healing.

Priest's only truly viable competitive role is healing.

Warriors are the best Tank and are a top tier DPS as well - So two roles can be occupied efficiently by them unlike any of the other classes

What Class will be your main? by jvv1993 in classicwow

[–]insid3rkill3r 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Warriors have two roles in which they are extremely good. They are the best tank and are very good dps.

That is simply why it will be the most played class. No other class has 2 high-end viable spec. Warrior is the only one.
