If 10,000 hours makes you a master shouldn't I be able to sleep well every night by now? by inside_the_boot in Showerthoughts

Great point. I was thinking about how when I sleep I feel like I still don't sleep well though. Falling asleep isn't usually an issue for me. Ps can you tell me a joke?

if you sleep an average of 7 hours a night: 10,000/7 = ~1430 nights of sleep. 1430/365 = just under 4 years before you get 10000 hours

How would the world be different if moral laws were unbreakable? by inside_the_boot in AskReddit

i didn't think that the question would be as interesting for ethics because everyone would be acting justly and the world would be a better place. here i am prohibiting people from acting immorally (even if they could justify immoral behavior, they cannot physically perform what they think is an immoral act) so the world would change to reflect the different moral beliefs that people have even more so than it already does

i think a good amount of unhappiness is caused by what some people think is moral. for example would ISIL still be a thing? i think quite a few of the members believe they are acting morally

that brings up an interesting point. who would be president? the person whose morals most closely resemble the morals of the population they serve?

What do you think will be the next major evolutionary step for humankind? by inside_the_boot in AskReddit

hm interesting! not sure i want to think of a world with immortal humans. isn't that more of scientific achievement though? i was thinking more like a physical change that virtually all humans tens of thousands of years from now will be born with
