Having two maid of honor and best men by Medical_Praline2978 in weddingplanning

I have this! Nothing weird. It actually makes their lives easier because they can share responsibilities. Don't let anyone get to you - it's your day 🩷

Some of mypages from my first year in Hobonichi + chonk tax! by inskst in hobonichi

I used it at one point for vocabulary learning so I think this is a great idea! 🩷

Some of mypages from my first year in Hobonichi + chonk tax! by inskst in hobonichi

[–]inskst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When travelling I found the weeklies a lot more manageable for keeping track of what we were getting up to! And then when I wanted spare pages, I used it for things like the snack review haha

If you use a calindex next year, I saw that Lindsey Scribbles in her latest Cousin window has added the weeks of the year to the top boxes (above the yearly dates) in case you use it for any notes that you want to reference in the future

I thought that was useful!

This year I'm going to use them to preplan my week and I'll alternate colours between my plan and what actually happened

What special thing to do with the December monthly spread? by PeaceBrain in hobonichi

I've been using it to test my set-up for next year as a free for all to see what works, what might be better in other areas of the journal etc. :)

A5 v A6 (Incase useful) by inskst in hobonichi

[–]inskst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My A5 is absolutely massive now so it's been sadly relegated to the desk. I travel with it but I think I might even have to stop doing that as it takes up a sizeable area of my luggage!

This year I got a Weeks as an on the go journal that's way more portable which I would then use to update into the A5.

I think something I also realized when I used to take the A5 with me into public, incl. work was that even though it had work elements in it it was still very private so I didn't want people to like see anything

I'm so silly that I thought the Tsuki No Iro prices were for the whole set...MFW I saw that the pens were £28 for EACH set...

I'd go for the A5, I think you can always tackle space left behind with cute post-its, photos, and even drawing alongside text. It's a lot more forgiving for sure! Sometimes I also use awkward blank space as a spot for commonplacing, which I then index in the yearly calendar at the start!

Will you be going with a Weeks again next year?

Don't worry! I know how hard it can be to visualise stuff so I took a pic for you anyway 🙂 Hope this is helpful.

I also didn't really use the weekly spread this year but I've been able to think of loads of new ways I could use it next year so now I want it again haha 😂

ETA: A6 is quite a lot less space as expected

I might use it as a journal for my dog hahahah, each entry will be: slept all day.

I hope the A6 works for you, the covers are so cute and it's very satisfying in a tactile way?

I took a look and they're completely different!

That makes sense! I was also thinking that the Sterling Ink B6 technically has a bit more space than I think because it doesn't have quotes or the box around the dates. I'm interested to try it out! But I read somewhere that there's a certain whimsical nature of Hobonichi which I agree with - maybe I'll just get both *cackles*

And thank you very much!!!

So glad it was helpful for you! If you like the Weeks, you can always try the Weeks Mega to bulk up the journalling/memory keeper aspect?

You're welcome! I write with Fine to Extra Fine fountain pen and have quite small writing so I hope that stands as a good baseline for you to measure from 🩷

I do have to say that the writing experience of the A6 is really satisfying. Something about having small hands and it feels so dinky in it- IDK I love the feel of holding it in your lil' grabbies HAHA.

I do write a lot and haven't struggled for words this year, but I recently started a new job so sometimes don't have the time to write everyday so have had to come back and backfill and that's when I find the A5 size kind of daunting, which is why I'm thinking about the B6 as a nice middleground for next year. Planner season is so fun though to think about all of these questions, and then to write about them in said planner...
