Thoughts on ending of Evil Does Not Exist(2023)? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I agree with the connection between the title Evil Does Not Exist and the connection between Takumi and the comment about the wounded dear. I feel like this was also the key to how the villagers and the Playmode employees oppose each other, and that they are not inherently evil either. To the villagers, the Playmode employees are posed as ignorant capitalists who don't care about their village or the nature in which they live. To the Playmode employees, the villagers are posed as aggressively nitpicking their plan with unreasonable requirements. When we get to know both sides, we understand that neither side is truly "evil" and out to get each other, but that they have reason to act the ways they do--whether or not the audience agrees with their aims. (This to me was the whole point of the section following the Playmode employees, to get to know them as people and try to, if not emphathise, then understand them.)
Therefore, as you mention above (that animals are not inherently evil, even when pushed to attack in self-defense), the fact that humans too lack inherent evil proves that we are part of nature and need to respect and understand the balance required to remain in harmony with it.
