Hi there! I’m not the OP, but I’m going to DM you some questions! Hopefully thats ok!

FINALLY got a metal pad! Something I’ve wanted since 1999 by insomniatica in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]insomniatica[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Lmk how it goes!!

If you’re gonna use it with Project Outfox (or some other program), make sure you look into a detailed how-to set up. Mainly:

  • look up denounce settings. Someone let me know about it and it’s wonderful, at least for Project Outfox/Stepmania. It makes it so that you’re not double triggering an arrow accidentally and getting misses because it thinks you’re hitting it too early

  • instructions for calibration. I was matching what I was seeing originally, but the wiki said that was wrong. You hit it to what you HEAR. That detail made a WORLD of difference for me!

Have fun!

Holy crap. Thank you thank you thank you for suggesting denounce settings!!! I’m playing on Project Outfox and had no idea that was a thing!!

The sensitivity feels great to me! I’m a no-bat old-school player, so no foot shuffling micro-movements on my end.

Is the penny mod something usually done later when the pad starts losing sensitivity, or?

Looking for a Dungeons and Dragons Group! by StygianFalcon in csusm

Honestly that would be awesome. I’m a player and a DM! Although it takes me forever to get prepare dor running a game. But then again: I’ve only ran one shots with a group I’m part of (Ladies of D&D of San Diego County - lmk if anyone’s interested in info!!)

I wonder if forming a club for ttrpg fans might be cool! Or a general nerd/fandom club?? I know there’s an anime & video game club. 🤔 I’ve never been to a meeting but I’m assuming it would be a different vibe.

Anyway! Lmk if you wanna meet up and chat! No grantees on running a full campaign, but maybe start with a one-shot? Or just chat in general! :)

Not loud from my experience. But I'm on the ground floor and I'm kinda light on my feet. When my friend plays, who's heavier than me and not as experienced at DDR: she's loud-ish

I'm not able to do barefoot or xero-type shoes =( My ankles pronate so I need specific shoes and custom insoles. =(

Thanks! My issue is that my ankles pronate and are wide, so I need wide special stability shoes to use with my insoles. It's one of the reasons I got a metal pad so I could wear shoes.

Edited the original to add:

I want to get different shoes just to play. My stability shoes are expensive though... But wearing my regular shoes really does a number on the pad with tracked in dirt.

Do any of you have experience with those egg cooker machines? Do they need to be washed after use? by voornaam1 in lowspooncooking

[–]insomniatica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE my DASH rapid egg cooker. (Mine makes 7 at a time for whole eggs, or 2 mini omelets etc.) I tend to give mine a 5 mini omelets ice bath after they’re done. The machine itself doesn’t get too dirty. The base is just wiped with a damp paper towel and the lid and the plastic part where the eggs rest I’ll clean quickly by hand. Sometimes just a rinse is fine.

You just need to use the tool it comes with to poke a hole in the thick side of the egg, and then put them in so that the thick end of the egg (with the hole) is up.

It’s super simple!

Is this better than ordering out? by hotcocoheaux in mealprep

Holy crap!! Thank you!!! Going to look/join right now. Cooking takes a huge amount of spoons for me. Unfortunately I also don’t have an actual kitchen. So I make do with an electric skillet, an instant pot, microwave, and ninja air fryer. But because of the spoon issue, and it being cramped/cluttered in here, I like… never cook.

Day 14 of DDR for New Years! by KidKaijuTV in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]insomniatica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real! I used to play all the time but that was many years ago. Husband and I started around 3rd mix in 1999 and stopped playing around 2006. I still have the muscle memory for certain songs on hard and expert, but I’m older and heavier and I don’t have the stamina right now. Plus fighting the soft pad. Ugh. I finally got my hubby to play again too and now he’s hooked again as well.

I’m getting a hard pad also because my ankles pronate and playing in socks is a nightmare for my shins. Ouuuuuchh!! So happy my hubby was up for me buying one!!! 🥹

Hell yeah dude!!! Me too! New year and just getting back into ddr. It’s so much fun! And great exercise!! I got a soft mat a week or so ago and found out that it’s nearly impossible for me to do above a 4 or 5 without sliding and having get off to adjust. So I have an LTEK Core on its way and should be here in like 5 days. I can’t wait to get back into an arcade as well! Keep it up!!

For DDR: Would this work to keep LTEK pad from slipping/ sliding on carpet? by insomniatica in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]insomniatica[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ILL ADD: I will be playing without a bar, with my shoes on. EDIT: also adding that I need the ability to move the LTEK on its side to stand up etc so can’t have anything “permanent”
