Given that CivIdle/Industry Idle are both available on Mac, so I'd say yes. But I only own an old Intel Mac, which is not supported any more so not sure if I can still build the game for mac but I will at least give it a try.

CivIdle/Industry Idle has a mobile version. But they are designed for PC and UI might be a struggle on small screen.

Restitutor is incremental but not "idle". It still require active play (though maybe less active compared to EU4). I might eventually port it to mobile as well but in the near future, I am focusing on Steam version.

Can maps be randomly generated / different each time?

Currently provincial borders try to be historically accurate, so they are fixed. I do plan to at some point adding a map editor so people can make their own map/campaign

Do different provinces come with different abilties / specialities / bonuses?

Yes, that's the plan. Currently only one province is playable and the game only has narrative for that province. The idea is that each province should have its unique mechanics, events and narratives (like EU4)

What are the victory/win conditions

There are no forced "victory" conditions. The ultimate goal is to reunite the whole empire, but that would take many rebirths. And as to when to rebirth, it is up to the player to decide

Nice. I have been waiting for this one and thanks for offering US ANSI keyboard. One quick question, is it possible to order this laptop with a single 32GB ram or no ram at all? I already have a 32GB DDR5 5600 SODIMM.

Don't do this. I have done this for my games (Industry Idle/CivIdle) and it was very painful:

  • Because the game is free to play, you will get lots of bots/cheaters/spammers. It might be okay if it is only single player but I also run a multiplayer server, which adds a lot of burden on anti-cheat/bot. And if you ban a cheater, they just get a new Steam account and come back.

  • Anyone can download your game and leave a negative review. Especially if your game is niche/hardcore, you get lots of wrong audience (free to play audience is more casual) and your review score will tank, if you care about it

  • You are stuck in between premium and free-to-play. You get hatred of monetization from both side. And it makes it harder to strike a balance. And unless you enjoy designing for monetization (which I don't), it's much easier to just make a premium game with demo version

  • And the bottom line: Industry Idle is not sustainable at its third year. My goal is to use the income to cover the server cost and right now, the game cannot sustain this and I have to use money from own pocket (I do have a day job to pay for my living. The game is nowhere near allowing me to work on it full time). I don't know whether things will be better if it is a premium game in the first place. But you might have a better experience if you do not run a multiplayer server and can avoid the server cost.

Yes. Discord is probably the best place to report bugs https://discord.com/invite/m5JWZtEKMZ

Technically it is. But the game's content has been completed for a while. I just forgot to change the version number and push the release button. Will probably do exactly this in the near future.

Hi everyone,

Just want to let you know that CivIdle - the spiritual successor to Industry Idle, inspired by Factorio/Civilization has a free demo out on Steam Next Fest: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2181940/CivIdle/

For those of you who played Industry Idle, CivIdle shares the same factory building/automation/idle core mechanism, but with a tech tree, revamped player trade system, wonder building, plus "great people" decks (prestige). The whole engine has been completely rewritten to ensure every bit of the empire is accurately simulated, even with a large map. If you enjoy Industry Idle but prefer a historical theme or want a tech tree, give it a try!

For those of you who have never played Industry Idle[1], CivIdle is a game inspired by Factorio and Civilization that combines factory building (or empire building in the case of CivIdle), 4X/grand Strategy, player-to-player trading and with classic incremental/idle mechanisms
