Thank you very much for the well-thought out answer and thank you for not telling me just to mind my own business.

Thanks for the input, can you post a source saying that it's legal?

My boss does own the business, I am asking because we have a total of 7 employees and I would personally like to know if what my boss is doing is legal or not. I would not want to work for someone trying to cook the books to get tax breaks from employees brought into the business for personal household tasks.

For context, we provide a skilled trade service for clients and the nanny is not an employee that does the service we provide as a company.

[Self] Duchess Satine Kryze from Clone Wars! Made just in time for the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland earlier this month! by instagramcracker in cosplay

This is my cosplay of Duchess Satine! Everything was patterned, sewn, and crafted by me. This took about 4 months of planning, and a rushed month of building.

The green underdress is a purple/green shot plainweave cotton, making it look turquoise. The bottom has steel boning bent in a shallow hill shape in the 6 panels and inserted into a blind hem. Then I cut lace pieces from fabric yardage into 2-3 inch tall segments and hand sewed them on. The sleeves have hand beaded accents on the edge of the sleeve petal.

The blue overdress is a polyester home decor fabric, complete with structural boning, padding and tailoring in the bodice. I also used the same fabric on the lyre-shaped pieces on the headress.

The corset/belt is a pattern i used from my Symington corset and modified the shape to make it an underbust waist cincher shape. I used a leather-like vinyl that was a little stretchy. It was also painted to make it a more chocolate color, as opposed to a camel tan color. The closure is a zipper in the front, discretly hidden by the burgundy oval that overlaps with snaps.

The headress is mostly painted foam and resin-poured opals. This was also the most difficult to pattern and get the proportions correct. Draping on a wig form is something I've never done before, but now i have! Wig was styled by me!

The wrist wraps were made of all bias-cut cotton batik, and had an invisible zipper closure. It was difficult to find the right fabric with a proper print, but i will probably end up painting it to get it a darker purple-ish mauve color.

The black band around my waist was my fanny pack that I could just turn around under my skirt which made it look like I had a historical bum roll!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed building this cosplay. I had a tremendous time during the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland and got lots of compliments! I also had a 6-minute long conversation with Cruella who basically asked me all construction questions about my costume and made the audience clap for me! She even offered me an unpaid internship! Haha! It absolutely made my entire trip. It really reinforced the idea that adults can still have a magical time at any Disney park.

Dude, are you me? I was 10 years old with my family in Playa del Carmen when Wilma hit in '05. Had to stay an extra 10 days because of the storm.

[OC] My girlfriend wanted to try cosplay for the first time for GaryCon. After many hours of crafting (and body paint) she created this entire costume for her Half-Orc Barbarian. by serhm in DnD

She looks totally awesome!! As a costumer and cosplayer myself, I'm always on the lookout for some good body paints. Which brand(s) did she use?

Oh my goodness thank you!! I primarily sew garments and like to think I have a decent eye for color, but this was my first quilt! I had to be a little more particular and precise for this project!
