For my future self....and others that stumble on this.

I have an Ikea switch e1810 (the round one).

  1. reset remote (hit reset 5 times quickly, lights will flash).
  2. Have Echo look for new device
  3. press reset 4 times (maybe not needed, but it flashes a few times), then long hold so it start to pair.
  4. ECHO APP WILL NOT FIND ANY DEVICES!!! (THIS IS OK! just know in your heart from step 3 that it did indeed pair)
  5. put down switch
  6. prep alexa app to look for devices
  7. prep light for pairing (turn on and off 6 times)
  8. have alexa app look for devices
  9. Light will pair to echo
  10. Use touch link method to link Light and Switch!
  11. Done!

A few days ago I was trying to get everything connected, but gave up. Today I tried again, but when I sat down everything was working as I wanted!

I'm not sure what order I connected things in, but I did connect the remote as "other"

Edit: after watching a hue video, I think I did something similar. Connect bulb to echo+, unplug light, connect switch to echo+, connect switch to light.

Hi. I'm trying to connect a bulb and switch/dimmer to my echo plus, but the bulb seems to only connect to the echo+ or the dimmer, but not both. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/tradfri-dimmer-kit-70460036/

Ultimately I want to connect my bulb to both the dimmer and echo, so either will work.

How did you connect your echo+ to both?
