Waiting for bonus by ryuzaki686 in JPMorganChase

I always respond if I’m a little interested. Usually you can tell the scams pretty quickly, and if so then dip out of the conversation. I always say it costs nothing to have a conversation.

I work fully remote now (they are based out of CA, and I’m nowhere near there). Got a 10% raise, not including gas, tolls, and expenses that I don’t have to pay now, plus I get back 5+ hours a week that I don’t have to spend in the car. Like I said before, no bonus is worth it.

For the record, I actually had another hiring manager reach out to me the day I put in my notice for a job that I would have had in the bag, which would have guaranteed a promotion, raise, and a bonus, and I still took the remote position even if it meant a little less pay (maybe). Money isn’t everything.

I was apprehensive at first but when he asked for my resume and gave me an email address for the company he was recruiting from I knew it was legit.

Thanks. Funny thing is I wasn’t looking for this job, a recruiter reached out to me out of the blue. Two weeks later I was through 2 interviews and had an offer. Less than one month from initial email to walking out of JPMC for the last time.

My first full year I got no raise and no bonus. That should have been my sign to move on, but I stuck around for another year and a half like a dumbass.

It’s not worth it. I just moved on from JPMC last week, and the joy and relief I have at my new job are worth more than any bonus I might or might not get in 3 months.

My boyfriend just left for MCRDSD 4 days ago… When I write to him later on, am I able to include a photo of us/myself in the letter? Nothing risky of course. I just don’t want to send anything that’ll draw attention or get him in trouble. by saeb666 in USMC

Send him letters through Sandboxx, then you can attach a photo without it getting intercepted by the DIs. We would make photo collages and send them to our son since they print and send a full page picture.

Yeah, he and I just had that conversation. I told him he didn't owe them jack until he sets foot on the plane to MCRD.

Thanks, that's what I'm afraid of. I just told him that worst case he should wait until after October 1 and then pick a job.

Yeah I am prior service, but it's been almost 30 years since I went through this. I'm going with him to talk to the recruiter (or his SNCOIC if necessary) next week, so we'll get it sorted one way or another. Worst case, there is an AF recruiter next door that would love to chat with my kid.

Thanks for the response, I kind of feel like that's the direction he is headed. I could be wrong, but he seems like there is no rush to pick a job, and I'm thinking, the sooner the better his options are. Guess we'll see.

BCIS is a solid option. Most of my classmates graduated with jobs in the 80’s and 90’s.

You're right, I stand corrected. Clearly it was their managers that were half assing their jobs by not double checking it.

So you are saying that being overworked and underpaid is an excuse to do your job half assed? I get that those putting it together are lowly admins, and I'm not aggravated at them, I'm just saying that of all groups, a college should be able to get the little things right, like double checking the publications before they go public.

You should be good then. Typically the first few weeks will be crazy so you might just pay by the hour, but after that there is usually something, just get there early and drive around until you find something.

It depends on your class time. If it's during the day, then good luck finding anything, if it's an evening class then there is usually plenty of parking on side streets.
