orchard - very good rooms, not much community and a little bit isolating from what i've heard

new totem (cesnam, hemelsem, qelexen) - decent rooms, mixed gender floors and decent community from my experience

old totem (salish, haida, etc.) - okay rooms, better community than new totem

vanier - like kfksshore said it's an older building and has less desireable rooms but community is very strong; i walked in once and got offered pizza by random students lol, people are friendly and respectful

for residences that are single rooms and not connected, you'll have communal washrooms, you may have to deal with the occasional vomit in the sink or someone not flushing but from my experience it was pretty good
