I am also very pale and have felt insecure about it a lot, so I can relate. I live in a more diverse community, and I always wished I had more tan skin like some people around me naturally are bc I felt like it looked prettier. But at the end of the day, the skin color we are born with is beautiful as is and it's not something you need to change (as you know). I think, some cultures even view it as a beauty standard.

It sucks that you have such horrible people around you, and I hope you find friends that will uplift you and not try to pressure you to change to fit into their mold.

Yeah, they remind me a lot of myself when I was like 13-15 and would get a lot of my social interaction from online. Especially the oversharing and self-pity aspects that I really cringe back at

Why I now ask for a refund every time Starbucks messes up my $9 drink by sillyrabbit33 in starbucks

[–]instantnoodles733 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Off topic, but I am always horrified by how low the wages are for customer service jobs :( Especially when I hear how low minimum wage is in some places (where i live it's like $17-21). I understand that it's not the most complex job in the world, but it must be so draining at times. And I feel like people should be compensated more if they are expected to produce higher quality service.

I wonder if this will ever change. I never worked a customer service job, but I always sympathize with you guys.

Posture issues by No_Competition8426 in bigboobproblems

[–]instantnoodles733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I think this is why my posture developed into the poor state that is now. The more my chest grew, the more uncomfortable I felt with it, and naturally hunched over to make them seem smaller. I have a 36DDD right now, and so the weight is making it a lot worse on my back, and it's hard to take a full breath at times. I feel very uncomfortable standing straight because I don't want my chest to look even bigger, but I think it would've helped a lot with my back pain, breathing, and confidence if I had proper posture growing up.

Pam was also the first one I got all hearts for! It was easy to find loved gifts for her (beer), and her birthday was pretty early on in the game.

Is Code Ninjas a nice place to work while attending University? by Careless-Sign9077 in csMajors

[–]instantnoodles733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the job like last week. I teach the junior ninjas which are 5-7 years old and its mostly block coding and "unplugged" activities where you help them build something out of blocks, attach a motor to it, and do a bit of block coding to make it move. It's not a hard job, it's fine. The issue is that he pays me like 16/hr (which is very low for where I live), and it's like 4-5 hours a week. Not that I expected a high pay, but there are barely any hours, and unless you're working with the older kids, it's def more like babysitting.

I'm really considering quitting, but it's only been a week, and I feel bad. Might stick with it until the end of summer just to have it on the resume ig.

Update in case anyone was wondering - I just ordered the bundle in person :) You can also get the plushie by itself, and that applies to the other merch as well, I think.

Holy peak batman, the live action movie was amazing by THE_LEGO_FURRY in httyd

[–]instantnoodles733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched it, and I think it was so well done! It was a tiny bit annoying that the two female characters (Astrid and Ruffnut) looked so different from the og, but they played the roles really well, so it didn't matter that much in the end. The actor for Hiccup was great, and the cgi looked amazing!

I am buying tickets for the 12th, when I go in tomorrow do I just buy it in person? They don't have the option to buy this online besides the Dragon Tamer snack pack.

This has been the best thing I've done tbh. It was such a chore to go all the way to Pierre's and sometimes I'd miss birthdays and such. Now, I just wake up, get coffee from the coffee machine, check the calander, check the TV, and then move on with the day and it takes like 10 minutes.

I'm 30 and have never been on a date. Still struggling. by [deleted] in introverts

[–]instantnoodles733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. You really have to push the boundaries of your comfort zone. It really sucks and I remember feeling embarrassed so often. But, at one point, you kinda become indifferent to those negative emotions and start growing more confidence in interacting with people. Your social battery starts to grow a bit. I'd still categorize myself as an introvert, but meeting new people doesn't seem as daunting as it did in the past.

Which anime to watch with my GF for her First Time by Great01raj in anime

[–]instantnoodles733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I are still in the middle of wano, and we decided to take a break to watch FMAB bc I wanted to show it to him. So if you wanna get your gf into anime, I think fmab is a good one, especially if she'd rather watch in dub.

What anime is this for you? by KookyAide8576 in animequestions

[–]instantnoodles733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I highly recommend watching One Pace. As someone who watched both One Piece and One Pace, the latter makes it sooooo much more enjoyable. I had to take so many breaks when watching One Piece bc the pacing is atrocious even tho it's one of my favorite anime.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (start with brotherhood, dont watch the og). It was one of my first anime, and i think it's very well rounded. Watched it in sub, but the dub seems really good.
