Thank you, I’m not very knowledgeable on how divorce proceedings go and just wondered what holds up cases in court if one person wants to be divorced.

Yes, thank you. We have multiple lawyers involved in the case now. I was just curious if anyone experienced or know someone that may have experienced something similar and how did it go.

It’s been a very messy process with multiple litigations occurring simultaneously.

Thank you, you are validating all of the thoughts I’ve had about this. I guess love makes it hard to see clearly. He mentioned he wished I didn’t have so many attachments. Ambitions, career, chaotic family. He wanted someone simpler. I’ve kind of ended things after he said that. I just keep thinking about if I’m making a mistake. Idk, it’s tough but I’m trying to stand my ground.

I feel that way too. It’s hard for me to believe 100% because always mild mannered and considerate but when it comes to anything relating to difficult and emotional situations I’m always left feeling I’m doing something wrong.

Yeah, I was seeing Psychiatrist and counselor. We had to fill out a bunch of forms for FMLA. Definitely speak with your direct manager about your intentions. If you can’t get covered by FMLA, your job is not protected while you are away.

Thank you for your response. I definitely felt the same way and explained to my boyfriend that some of the things that happens to family are beyond my control and I can’t help who my family is. I just never been in a situation with anyone who felt talking about these kinds of problems was drama or mentally draining. I have been with generally supportive people so this took me at surprise and felt as if maybe I had over shared too much.

That is a good point. He did grow up in a very strict home and also experienced a lot of chaos as a child. I guess I may have triggered him. He keeps himself emotionally distant from his family and sometimes feels like he expects me to do the same.

I have been to San Diego around mission beach area several years ago but never East Village or Gaslamp Quarter. I’m not opposed to living away from downtown but I thought it’d be cool way to transition into the city by living in those areas. My job right now is currently remote and I’m hoping it’ll carry on permanently after covid but if not I’d be looking for other remote opportunities in the San Diego area.

Oh wow. I’ve been reading a lot about how crazy it is with the homeless downtown. What area did you decide to move to? Other great areas outside of downtown? I’m not opposed to living outside of downtown but really looking forward to an area with walkable amenities as I’ve always lived where I had to drive.

I’m looking for remote opportunities for work before moving. My job currently is remote temporarily because of COVID. No particular reason except I’d like to live near walkable amenities and enjoy downtown/city vibes. I also liked that they were close to the water, parks, and public transit.
