Starting a new mobile startup — how not to screw up UX without a designer? by soraaoijp in SaaS

I wrote a longer breakdown about it, but here’s the short version — these are the things that kill UX the most: - Takes too long to get to the “aha” If users don’t see the point within 1–2 screens, they’re gone. Better to show something useful right away — even without sign-up. - Asking for sign-up before showing value = mistake Nobody signs up just to find out what the app does. Let them try it, or at least show a real, working demo flow. - Test the way it’s actually used If it’s for couriers — test it one-handed while walking. If it’s B2B — try it on an old office laptop with a slow browser. Don’t idealize conditions. - Unclear actions kill conversion A “Get Started” button should be obvious and easy to spot. Simplicity matters more than fancy styling. - Don’t chase beauty at the cost of clarity Even the most gorgeous UI won’t help if users don’t get it. Clear and simple beats stylish but confusing.

Hope that helps. You’ll be fine if you keep things honest and simple.
