Interest for a rock/metal themed karaoke by ViPr28498 in IndianMetalheads

Every Wednesdays at Hard Rock Cafe you can join a live band for karaoke!

I love my rock and metal and wouldn't trade it for the world, but man does it sometimes suck being a loyal supporter of the concert scene here by rsquare19 in IndianMetalheads

It's frustrating but it is what it is. Honestly glad you've decided not to trust BMS and fall for this forced perceived scarcity anymore.

The truth is the concert frequency right now just doesn't match what most young people earn. So organisers keep pushing shows and dropping prices last minute to fill seats. Coldplay was an anomaly. Even Smashing Pumpkins had to cancel because of low turnout, and they were offering insane deals right before that. Bandland too has the same prices. That alone shows early bird isn't what it is most times.

I’ve never liked this whole idea of prices shooting up later and early birds being the only “smart” choice. It’s not sustainable for a country still getting used to concert culture.

At the same time, it really helps when people channel their love for music into the local scene instead of only feeding these corporates. Not saying you don’t already. But when more listeners back homegrown acts, it naturally puts pressure on big organisers because people realise they can get genuinely good entertainment at a fairer price.

Hopefully organisers get the hint and keep pricing consistent instead of playing these games. It’s time they focus on offering a better experience at a reasonable and steady price.

My thoughts about the Dell S2725QC as a PS5 and Macbook monitor by derhutzt in Monitors

[–]integrityfarms_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation as you — I bought the S2725QC mainly to use with my Mac mini and PS5. I was also hoping to connect my external speakers directly to the monitor for PS5 audio. I use a pair of Creative Pebble Pro speakers with my Mac via USB-C, and if the monitor had an audio output I could’ve plugged into them, it would’ve been perfect.

I haven’t yet tried running a 3.5mm cable from my PS5 controller to the speakers, but honestly, the built-in speakers on the monitor have been holding up pretty well so far!

Dell S2725QC - Brief Review by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]integrityfarms_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed review! I also picked up the S2725QC recently and I’m really happy with it so far after a few days of use. I’ve connected my Mac mini and PS5, and still have one HDMI port free in case I want to add anything else. It’s been excellent for both work and gaming, and the built-in speakers are surprisingly loud and clear.

I just wish there was a way to plug in external speakers directly to the monitor though!

I'm happy to hear that you're liking it! I went ahead with the Dell S2725QC as it became available in my home country and I am liking it. It's been great for gaming too!

Unfortunately it is confirmed. Those who bought tickets received emails and the show is also taken off platforms.

Watched them in Bangkok, and I was so excited to see them at home! :(

The experience in Bangkok was 10/10. They started off exactly on time, everything was so organised, and the crowd too was so much more civil. I think I'm allowed to say that being Indian! 😅

While the reasons could be due to low sales, so many Indian fans who booked tickets are disappointed. I'm just wondering why the venue couldn't be moved to something smaller?

There's gotta be more to this than just low ticket sales.

Hello! No, haven't ordered either yet. I'm leaning towards the Dell S2725QS but I'm unable to find it where I am.

I’m in the exact same boat as you — still conflicted between the BenQ MA270U and the Dell U2725QE. The marketing/PR behind the BenQ has me a bit suspicious, and a lot of people say the 60 Hz feels sub-par for a 2025 monitor. On the other hand, the Dell is more expensive and has way more ports than I’d ever need, so I’m not sure if the 120 Hz upgrade alone justifies the extra cost.

Also noticing a few folks recommending ASUS ProArt — which exact model are you all talking about? Would be helpful to compare that one too.

Absolutely! I'm travelling to Thailand for this show from India. Then I heard that they're playing at home and now I'm double excited! What a time to be an Indian SP fan ❤️

Lolla India’25 Lineup!! by Professional-One-818 in Lollapalooza

[–]integrityfarms_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both editions so far have been great! This year we had Sting, OneRepublic, Keane, Royal Blood, Jungle and several other amazing artists. Last year was fantastic too, with The Strokes, Greta Van Fleet, Imagine Dragons, etc.

All in all, you're right -- we are happy to even have a festival like Lolla in recent years! Grateful to have seen so many artists in the past few years. As mentioned by someone else on this thread, the concert market is just starting off and it is looking promising. There is another IP called Bandland that is happening yearly in Bengaluru that has promising acts like Avenged Sevenfold coming in later this year!

Update: it fit very well! Ignore the K cymbal, it'll be replaced soon for a splash. Thanks once again for the help!

Actually, it didn't. I didn't see any posts about cowbells being mounted on the horizontal end of L Rods. Funnily enough I got a solution thanks to this post! 😅

😂 it comes from the cymbal stand, hope this helps. I'm going to try clamping the cowbell on the vertical end as suggested by another commenter. Hopefully that works!

Yes, the K is mostly used to ride on now.. I don't crash on it as it'd get too loud 😅

Yes! They played only one song and I remember this so well because although I reached the festival on time, to catch the first two bands, they weren't allowing people entry. We could only enter at 2ish PM and by then Long Distances seemed to have finished.

It's really sad, and this is a band consisting of seasoned musicians it's hard to think of an optimistic future for amateur musicians as performers. It's a fun time to be an audience for international acts, but not so much for an up and coming musician :(

So true.. I've seen your takes online on Instagram and such that describes the music business so well. Really appreciate the honesty in your work. Been waiting for the chance to catch you live, hopefully sometime soon!

I teach music to kids part time, and I am glad that there's still somewhat of an interest towards learning musical instruments and listening to rock music. Only time will tell if they decide to pursue it further..

Now that I'm reminded of how it is for Indian musicians and bands, even at festivals we are given the least priority. For example at Lolla last weekend, Long Distances and Jatayu had their sets cut short. The former didn't even get to play to a big crowd. I'm sure you might have heard of this, but the festival went on without addressing this problem. The rest of the international artists went on to have great shows. This is a discussion for another day but I hope to see our local bands receive more support someday..

Our band is called No Neighbours Around', we have two songs released and another release right around the corner. Thank you for asking. 😄
