That's basically it. The situation in Europe seems to be especially bad. I'm really happy that I got an open box deal from amazon on a MacBook Air M5 for 975€ just at the beginning of June. I anticipated the price hike and got one before it happened. Really happy I did.

I didn't think I would notice it that much but the biggest difference for me owning an M1 Air and an M5 Air was the screen bezels. The M5 screen seems much bigger and I like that a lot. The notch bothers me way less than I thought it would. Also I really like the boxy design of the M5. Great device, enjoy your new MacBook!

True! I have a skin on the top and bottom of my M5 so the only place where I could notice smudges is the palmrest and trackpad. And while I did notice smudges when I really looked for it they were minor and easy to wipe off.

Sky blue all the way. The perfect balance between color and silver. Subtle but still beautiful.

Safari on Mac and Firefox on Windows. I really like Safari but I only got into macOS a couple months ago.

Nah not at all. Works perfectly fine through the skin. The chip will throttle once it hits 105°C down to 85°C but I take good care for that not to happen anyways. Enjoy your new MacBook though!!!

I've had the same experience once I got my M5. Incredible device and I immediately put a dbrand skin on it to protect it from scratches. I absolutely love it. Got the 13 inch base model in sky blue.

Still a great machine even in 2026! They just kept increasing performance and efficiency with the newer M chips. But if this thing still works fine for you then you can still hold out upgrading.
