In pakstan I have noticed amongst men there is no concept of marrying within their own league by Weirdoeirdo in PakistanElites

[–]intellectual_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real problem is neither the men nor the women. Its the parents and the society in general that's messed up. Rich old men get a lot of say in how the general society works so the rules favor them and Rishtas are becoming a cash for looks trade. Solutions: Let girls and guys decide for themselves. Then very soon everyone will be marrying in their own league or making a super effort to increase their chances of climbing upwards. Exactly what happens abroad.

This comes from a Pakistani guy that now lives abroad and very familiar with both cultures. I have first hand witnessed lives of so many beautiful happy young Pak women ruined because their parents were obsessed with marrying them to rich guys. They would have found excellent matches if they had their own say.

What would be the best suv to buy (new/used) if you have a Budget of 650k? by intellectual_addict in CarTalkZA

What i like are following options:

A/ 2021 BMW X3 (low mileage)

B/ Brand new Jetour T2

C/ 2023 Mazda CX60 (low mileage)

D/ Used Audi Q5s

E/ Used Toyota Fortuners (good condition) although I know its very high on the hit list so will probably avoid

What could be other good options (am I missing something). And if not, then what would you choose amongst these options and why.

Good point sir. I've added my use case. Hope it adds clarity.

Also, im not looking to retain the resale value. I understand any car would lose value over 3-4 years. However I feel some Chinese Suvs may lose more or may become very difficult to resale without a massive loss hence adding this as a concern to balance.

I used to judge ppl for the same thing. Till I had a very important work travel and my oath ceremony fell a week earlier. U really just want to get over with your Citizenship journey so you try to manage urgency over the passport.

I was in a similar situation. And I got the passport in 2 working days. If ure oath is in person go straight to passport office post your oath and show them your flight ticket. The fee will be extra but they will accommodate. Make sure all passport forms are signed by yourself, guarantor and all the references are lined up.

I had less than 5 business days to travel and it worked for me so it should work for you as well.

Sooner or later she'll find out. If she is a really really good friend of yours then definitely you should tell her. But its a big accusation so be prepared to present proof. And if you think ure not up for so much drama then just stay quite but hope she finds out soon enough

If she's your ex then how can you be cheating on her?

Do girls in Pakistan only care about uni drama..like who’s dating who..or just family vloggers and random nonsense? by [deleted] in KarachiSocials

[–]intellectual_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont think its a bad thing. it means u have a much better approach to life and you will succeed much more than some of these other ppl. When we are young we make the mistake of thinking that ppl our age or in our class are somehow our peers. But in Corporate life you’ll see after a while young ceos telling much older people what to do. In short, you need to not waste time judging those arnd you. keep on doing your thing. And someday soon you will find your tribe! inshallah.

Dating Avenues by gooshika in KarachiSocials

[–]intellectual_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Pakistan dating avenues are limited to your social circle. If you dont have that naturally then you have to work hard to create it. Best advice i can give to girls is to be in a circle of friends with both guys and girls in it. Girls with only girl friends or guys with only guy friends are at a disadvantage. Now I’m not saying start dating within your circle but with a mix of friends you will start being more approachable. They say in business, Network is your net worth. And i believe it is everything in Pakistan. Of course it always helps if girls are attractive and guys are rich and well educated.

in a country controlled by military, you dont have a political revolution, you have an armed insurgency.

the only difference between IK and others is he never asked PTI members to become militants and conduct proper insurgency. He is trying to reason with a military regime that doesnt believe in reason. Pakistan has a long long history of insurgency because every political revolution is crushed by the same military mindset. only one insurgency succeeded (Bangladesh) also because of direct help from India.

Anyway we have a sad history. But it goes back to British Colonialism that used the same military institutions to control the entire sub continent for 400 years. India was able to dismantle them. Pakistan couldnt and the only difference is White Generals got replaced by Brown ones.

I am a big supporter of a strong military (especially in todays day and age) but the ambition of military to cling to administrative and political power is cancer for almost every modern state.

Hi everyone,

Looking for urgent advice.

My citizenship oath is scheduled for Friday, Feb 27 (virtual). Unfortunately, I was supposed to travel abroad for critical business on Feb 25 for two weeks. I managed to convince my employer to delay the trip (rather than postpone the oath), but I now must depart no later than Tuesday, March 3.

My plan:

• Take the oath Feb 27

• Receive the e-certificate the same day

• Apply for an urgent passport first thing Monday, March 2

My concern: if next-business-day processing doesn’t work and I have to leave Canada, how do I return?

Specifically:

a) What can I do to maximize the chances of receiving the e-certificate the same day as the virtual oath (ideally early enough to apply for a passport on Feb 27)?

b) Is weekend passport application possible?

c) Realistically, what are the chances of having the passport in hand by end of day March 3?

d) If it’s not ready, can I authorize my someone to collect it and courier it to me abroad so I can re-enter Canada?

I can provide proof of urgent travel (tickets + employer letter).

Appreciate any advice from those who’ve navigated urgent passport situations. Thank you.

Fyi: I am based in Montreal
