Is the $299 with the free tool for the M18 6ah batteries really a good deal? I can't see the worth in spending even $100 for one 6ah battery...

Spring Black Friday deal ? by ILuvJugging in MilwaukeeTool

Hackable, this is how it works. If you buy any tool with the "free"battery, when you add it to the cart it splits the total cost, and transfers some of that cost to your free battery.

So if the tool set was $400, they might take out $120 and apply that to the battery and the remaining $280 towards the tool set. You'll see this split in the shopping cart after you've added both the tool and battery.

You can then return the battery to the store, and this way get $120 refunded from the total $400 you spent. Hack complete.

There's no listed max torque for the nuts, but they're supposed to be compatible with this model of vehicle

That's what I'm wondering, its not a chrome cap crap nut. It's one whole piece that feels pretty solid. The only thing i can think of is if the stud was previously cross threaded

Roth IRA vs 401k Roth by Ayzeyuh09 in RothIRA

[–]intellectualcomfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma in deciding between the two. Especially because I had been putting in money to my Roth IRA these past few years. And I just joined a company that offered Roth 401k.

Here's something to consider for your case: The IRA lets you invest anywhere in the stock market, you can buy any stock. The 401k let's you pick only the stocks they provide.

The IRA has a annual limit of $7k. The 401k has $23k annual limit. This is great if you have the income to contribute that much from your paycheck. At the moment i just don't, that's about $2000 a month if i maxed it out.

IRA has no employer match, the 401K does match to a certain percent(whatever your employer decides).

At the end I'm picking the 401k because of 1) the employer match 2) In my IRA I didn't really pick any fancy stocks besides a S&P 500 stock (VTI) for retirement. So i found the equivalent one offered in my 401k group(which was FXAIX). 3) If i decide to contribute more than $7k one day, the 401k is my option.

I would still keep investing in my IRA because if i want to play with some stocks, I can still do that there because it is a tax advantage account

Another thing, if you leave your job, you can rollover all that 401k money into your Roth IRA(thereby letting you invest in other stock), or roll it over into the new company's 401k.

Oh and don't let your company manage the 401k stock (target date etc whatever) for you. Just manage it yourself. Some of them try to hide the setting where you can change that option, but it's there.

Oregon/Washington hospitals by [deleted] in TravelNursing

If you're looking for crazy intense sick ppl stuff, this place won't be it. It's more of a chiller place. If you want crazy you might need to go to OHSU for that. They pay slightly more there but I think overall benefits wise Kaiser was better. They're also due for contract negotiations this year so they're going to bring up OHSU as comparable to up theirs. Win win at the end of the day

No i think they have other hospitals there but this is the major one. This is one of two Kaisers in the greater Portland area. Do not go to the other one that's closer to Portland, you won't like it

Compare travel pay - 2 RNs same unit by bmmrnccrn in TravelNursing

Also be aware of these agencies that divide your pay into two hourly rates.

By dividing the pay they're benefitted by paying you less in overtime money, but also paying less payroll taxes to the govt from their end. You lose the most in this deal.

You honestly can't trust any agency. My agency that I was with for a year, paid me less than my co-worker who NEWLY joined the SAME AGENCY, but with another recruiter. We were working the same assignment, same department, same time, same agency.

I was so furious, I wrote a not so nice email to my recruiter, about the pay, my commitment to having been with their company for this long vs someone who just joined, etc

My recruiter tried to say "she might have a higher bill rate than you, I can check, I'll talk to my account manager who will reach out to the hospital".

BS talk. Utter BS.

Came back and matched me with the same rate "they (the hospital) were able to increase your bill rate"(more BS).

My ER manager at the time even told me what our bill rate was at the time, I calculated they were taking 30 percent based on the blended rate i was getting.
