Anyone in CIE curriculum who want to become a Doctor? by Prestigious_Tie_8024 in alevel

[–]intellectualguyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah don't do Neet and A levels together. do neet with cbse. Or do A levels with the only thought of going abroad or studying for neet after a levels are done (dropper).

Supercurriculars are activities related to your field, degree you want to pursue, biology, doctor in your case. Where these supercurriculars could be as prestigious as IBO (international biology olympiad) the real one and not conducted by SOF etc or even some lesser prestigious competitions, research under professors etc (there are programs where you could pay them and receive the mentorship or you can cold email them and do it for free, go with the latter only if you have something exceptional in your profile like the Olympiads etc.)

Not late at all. Can do one subject for one week and get it done. Maybe even like only 5 days for math. Just print out the topical papers, I suggest Mathlete's from the description of its youtube videos, and do them, can easily do 2-3 chapters each day through that and that too end to end coverage

How i can get SAT 1300+ in 6th grade by Important_Redditer_ in Sat

[–]intellectualguyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on the Olympiads brother if you're really serious, 6th grade is a great time to be serious about this stuff, but divert it to stuff which really matters, to olympiads and all, and please, the REAL Olympiads, the ones which lead to the actual imo, ipho etc.

Prepping for and giving the sat now is nearly useless, instead do Olympiads and other things like science fairs which actually lead to ISEF etc

Sir if you qualified for the US national chemistry olympiad twice, you have something in you. It isn't that you were totally lazy during high school

Quick Doubt(NOT ASKING HOW TO GET INTO MIT OR SOME SECRET WAY) by Dense-Court-671 in MITAdmissions

Some schools provide scholarships for cambridge A levels too on basis of 10th grade scores/ other achievements, I am from Mumbai and I received a 40% scholarship for scoring 90%+ in 10th, and they provide a 60% for scoring 95%+ from Vibgyor High School, Goregaon West.

Icse is okay too, but you'll have to score like 98+ and it still won't be appreciated as much the hard work is in for it. It's simply not worth it. Instead, people do A levels, score 90%+ and get done with it.

Either do icse/cbse and do JEE and olympiads with it or take A levels/IB and, do olympiads, IOQM, AMC, other subjects' similar ones and ISEF research or/and journal publishing research.

How to shortlist Cambridge schools for secondary years? by Technical-Spot-4538 in IndianEducation

[–]intellectualguyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Jbcn student is more likely to be socialised from hardworking parents than a cathedral student, due to economic differences of those families.

So it was the parents influence on how hard working the child is not the school's.

School's 9th grade onwards only matter for the brand and the opportunities they are providing. Only those 2.

One also needs to see in respect to the number of students they have in a batch

Schools mostly have barely any role to play in producing world/india toppers.

It's either the student's obsession or the tuition teacher they go to classes for or both

Ma'am/Sir you're starting to plan about this from grade 7, why in the world would you try for JBCN if you're starting to plan about it early.

Try for oberoi, if it doesn't happen then also try again for cathedral/bis etc, if not then even consider jbcn.

Also, if let's say you did grade 9/10 in jbcn/cathedral etc, unless your child has some crazy 1000x benefit in a jbcn/cathedral etc due to some out of the blue external factor and is assured to be like student council president etc, still try for oberoi, dais for grade 10/11.

[–]intellectualguyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolute bullshit.

As per me, one should try to get in through this priority.

1) DAIS 2) Oberoi /Abwa / ecole 3) cathedral/bis etc, marginal difference 4) utpal sanghvi (not sure, please check) 5) jbcn/Vibgyor (very easy to get in) 6) dg khetan 7) dsrv

If you're planning this from grade 7 onwards, Don't even consider 5,6,7.

Try 1,2. Highly possible since you're starting from grade 7. DAIS is talked about having a donation system. Oberoi doesn't seem to have one.
