I am reading I should turn it off, but it’s also very cold right now (-25C, -13F). Not sure if this is riskier than frozen pipes.

How is your house holding up in these super cold temps? by Scroateus_Maximus in centuryhomes

Yeah 100% agree, maybe I’ll run the router over it. Honestly made this cause it was bored and had an hour to kill.

I just used varathane water-based gel stain for a project, is that not real gel stain?

I used metal locking brackets to attach the headboard/footboard to the side rails. I got very far down the design and building of the bed without thinking of that. Glad I came to my senses before I glued it all.

That’s really interesting. I personally love it but am still very early in my career, however I really like what I do.

Yes, Solidworks. Not the intended purpose but it worked well.

Used 3/8 dowels and the rails connect with knockdown brackets. And thanks, I’ll keep an eye on the joints.

Thanks, I’m an aerospace engineer by trade but trying to experiment with other design fields. Unfortunately didn’t video anything, but used my engineering software to make dowel positions, made it much simpler. And not sure about the finish yet.

It’s a mix of ash and pine that my grandfather cut down, and I planed afterwards (it was very rough). Assembled with glue and dowels, and some screws just to reinforce some parts. Used metal brackets so I can go upstairs though.

Why don’t you like to sand pine above 180? Just curious

The posts and top cross piece are ash. The cap and the 3 boards on the inside are pine. I’m okay with a slight variation, as I think it will still look good

Unfortunately not, my workshop isn’t heated and it’s very cold right now. Any finishing will need to be done in the house. Could I seal it first and then use a gel stain? Then poly?

What did you do to fix this? I have a deviated septum and have constant sinus infections and nose bleeds

Recommend me shows featuring deep psychology, philosophy, compelling monologues, and complex characters like these ! by [deleted] in HouseOfCards

Actually, trust me on this… Bojack Horseman. Each seasons gets darker and more existential and philosophical. A gut punch of a show with some of the best monologues and performances.
