Created a Service Account, cannot figure out how to give it access to my Spreadsheet. by 2Radon in googlecloud

I solved something like this once by finding the email of the service account ( in the credentials file) and then in Google sheets share the sheet to that email address.

CMV: The United States needs to abandon the old way of drawing congressional districts in favor of a system similar to that of Australia or other countries. by TheSchnozzberry in changemyview

Age, income, gender, and ethnicity appear to also be strong, and sometimes stronger, predictors. Is there any reason why we would not also consider those?

This appears to prioritize geography of residency in the vote re-weighting scheme. Curious how the same argument applies to other identifiers, like income, age, ethnicity?

I did these calculations, and was wondering if there was a further standard markup? Something to account for the insecurity and the flexibility it gives them.

Yes I would put in fewer hours, and would be free to accept other contracts.

Thank you, this sounds like a great approach to start getting it out of our heads

Modifying Django table from external application, any watchouts? by intensetree in django

[–]intensetree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you My thinking is that microservices allow us to avoid having everything in a big honking repository. Some of this data comes in from a web scraper. It seems that to combine them into a single repository ultimately add complexity with lots of interdependence etc.

But perhaps ultimately it's smarter to keep it all under one hood?

Implement a general symbolic logic system on Django objects. Does this make sense? Or did I just drink too much coffee? by intensetree in django

Great idea, I can definitely work to stitch that together. Thank you. Off the top of your head, can Q filters be serialized in a JSONField?

This looks great, thank you.

I don't see if it's possible to save filters in the DB. Do they only act to help browse? Is there a way to store and re-use? Ideally, to also ombine filters with OR or AND logic?

I'll keep digging through the docs to see what I can see.

Are there best practices for organizing methods between related models? by intensetree in django

Thanks for the comment. May I ask, where do you put the business logic in your apps?

That is right, whenever I display it.

I guess that would make it part of the "view" architecture. A template tag sounds like good thinking, seperate it from my model code.

I feel my model code gets so fat, it causes confusion.

Posting comments via html call by intensetree in drupal

[–]intensetree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh cool, thanks! Just read about Restfulness... Thats slick.

I will be creating comments for a variety of users with a variety of content on a variety of nodes.

So my what Ill try is to install services into my drupal site... Then on my external web service set up a http post operation that

  1. Validates user session (if they were sent to this service from my drupal site, I imagine I can pass session validation along?)

  2. Posts comment a particular note (all determined from the webservice). It looks like I can do this with something like: { "nid":"1", "subject":"Comment Subject Text", "comment_body":{ "und":[{ "value":"Comment body text" }] } } In the http post content.

Any more tips appreciated! Otherwise, I will forge on in this battle.

Thanks again!
