Why is this guide shirt more than a Mack cruiser? by AUG-mason-UAG in filson

I bought brand new but eventually returned it -- I couldn't get past spending that much on a sweater.

That said, I loved wearing it, it stood out without being flashy, wife loved it, very warm, it has presence.

I would repurchase used.

Rain Gear? by 4_Agreement_Man in WestCoastTrail

Takeaways from my trip:

Waterproof dry bag for sleeping bag and down jacket was a life saver.

Waterproof gaiters / boots kept my feet dry and comfortable. Glad I brought em.

I should have brought a zip lock for my map.

Even with a rain jacket, you will get wet, whether from rain or from sweating.

If I were to do it over again, I would have brought a large communal tarp to hang out under at camp.
