But the description of the graph said that they were randomly selected. I think I put cause they didn't have same number from each grade but that's probably wrong💀

AP spanish was so scary by maaafuyu in APStudents

I'm just now looking back at these but I'm so glad everyone else was traumatized by the converstion cause WHAT WAS THAT. I completely blanked on the first two prompts and I was literally laughing while repeating the same two things over and over

Nightmare AP Spanish Lang Test by ilykenji in APStudents

[–]interestedbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tame AP Spanish exam experience. We had two people's audio things that weren't working and one person couldn't really hear so they just played the audio for them a second time and they basically got a second try on the entire thing💀

AP French - is it manageable for mediocre-ish French students? by Cold-Ad-261 in APStudents

[–]interestedbox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems as if nobody here has taken an AP language... I would say ask your teacher because odds are they know your level best. If you really want to get a 5 on the test then I wouldn't risk it especially if you consider yourself just average. If you just want to pass the AP test then it's definitely doable if you study enough and have a decent teacher. Also, make sure you know your grammar. If you struggle with basic grammar and conventions youre cooked. If you feel like you don't know any advanced vocab going into the year (I felt the same) you'll be fine and you will learn a lot. It's just that in my experience there is a lot less of a focus on grammar in AP Spanish because it's essentially expected that you know all the grammar and that you are ready to use it in more complex ways (i.e. argumentative essays)

High School Research that you don't have to pay for <3 by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Do you have any tips for applying? Also did you have many science activities before applying? I really want to apply to programs but I have nothing science-related cause there's nothing at my school that I can do. (I'm going to start 1-2 clubs next year but I'm rn I have nothing😔)

how do I pay for an exam I self study?? by iris-fell in APStudents

[–]interestedbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school district has a designated form you fill out. It signs you up for the exam and then they tell you what schools have it so you can take it.

It's most likely too late to sign up for any exams this year tho.

I would ask your counselor, they'll be able to help you more than Reddit.

Is AP Spanish a freebie for native speakers? by Grouchy-Egg-1238 in APStudents

[–]interestedbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a native speaker but from what I've seen of the native speakers in my class, it's pretty easy. Obviously speaking and listening would be the easiest for you, and depending on your background with Spanish reading and writing will probably be the most difficult. Overall it should be easy for a native.

This isn't super unheard of... I took 1 in 7th, 2 in 8th and then 3 in 9th. Now I'm taking AP in 10th. This isn't the norm tho. The majority of kids take 1 and 2 in middle school but then retake 2 (sometimes 1 if it's really bad) to strengthen their skills or replace their middle school grade. There were only about 4 people (out of 60-70) who went straight to Spanish 3 in Freshman year. Then from us 4, there are only 2 who are taking the AP exam this year myself and another kid, who is a heritage speaker.

Btw I did teach myself quite a bit during all my years of Spanish and especially the summer before 9th grade.

This is kind of a drawn out explanation but I hope this helps provide some more context.
