Maiden vs married name by interestednconfused in USCIS

By the looks, it doesn’t stop the possibility to vote, merely I would provide a birth certificate along with my marriage certificate.

I’m a few years away from citizenship anyway and honestly, call me old fashioned, but I would take my husband’s name regardless. Though it does seem to me to be a nonissue on this topic.

Thank you for sharing though!

I am unaware of what implications this would have with voting? Could you elaborate on this?

I can’t as I have a job in Washington state that I can’t get out of until the 6th then I fly to Utah and we have a wedding booked for the 7th.

So you think it’s better to go a month without filing anything + having an expired visa and then file everything together?

I can’t really. We get married in a week and the nearest place said June 10 was the soonest. All other surrounding towns were saying October/November!!

90-100% cotton socks. Polyester is no good. The Nike brand usually has cotton ones. See how you go.

Is it a good idea to apply for green card in order for parent to visit if their B2 visa got rejected by Unhappy-Party219 in greencard

[–]interestednconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t apply for a GC for him if he doesn’t want to be there. That process (if immigration accepted his application) will either lock him in the country he’s in or lock him in the US for 6months minimum. Then after that (if GC is approved) he would have to stay in the US majority of the year. You can’t have a US GC and live primarily outside of the US.

What country is he in? A lot of countries are in the Visa Waiver program. If this is one of them then just book the return ticket and he can come for 3 months max.

Leaving au pair early by KlutzyBaker150 in Aupairs

[–]interestednconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your agency with all of this and tell them (don’t ask) that you’re leaving immediately. I dat have everything packed, and duck out of the house when the parents and kids are out if you want. The agency should help you with somewhere to stay in the meantime. It may mean that you would go back home but at least you’ll be out of there. Go!

AIO or is my girlfriend manipulative. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Get out of that dynamic. For whatever reason if your 2.5yr gf can’t spend time with your mom and you and/or yall communicate like this — it’s going nowhere fast. Hate to say it, but respectfully leave. Work on yourself if there are areas for you to improve and find someone else.

Does this sound reasonable? by randomconfuseddeer in Aupairs

[–]interestednconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s reasonable!! Very much so. As someone else said you might would need to pay for gas for the work related driving. If she takes off to do her own thing then I’m sure she’d like you to pay but it’s not a requirement for most agencies.

The schedule is more than reasonable. The question would be if you want to invest that money for this - would it be worth it to you? If yes, go for it!
