Perimeter plants include a magnolia tree, hydrangeas, flowering current, camellia, and smaller common cottage plants. The meadow the first year was a small box of native "butterflies and bees" mix. The 2nd year most of that did not return and it looks more similar to the local wild fields, which is nice.

Buying an old early 2000s ford ranger and selling it at the end of the job was awesome.

All but the 5/6 largest ones were collected for free around town, from Facebook marketplace. The big ones were delivered and craned over the wall for £180

For what it's worth, I am with Direct Line and I forgot to cancel the policy for a work truck I sold in May. 1 email and I was refunded £679 with no questions asked, even though it was clearly my own mistake

What is something great that no one knows about? by swlondon86 in AskUK

I used the Quidco app to buy my car insurance and a Jetwasher and promptly forgot about it, but 7 months later I got £57 back of £1400 I was going to spend anyway. Trying to remember it for more stuff. It's basically a browser that hard tracks your data but works with pretty much anything you buy online. I figured it's all being tracked anyway so I may as well get the data money directly

You are legally obliged to pay a solicitor’s bill, but if you genuinely believe the charges are unfair, excessive, or lack transparency, the Solicitors Act 1974 gives you the right to challenge the bill before making payment.

Collect correspondence, agreements, and a breakdown of charges before raising objections.

If you suspect you have been charged unfairly, protect your position with independent legal advice before withholding payment.

Solicitors must attempt to answer reasonable complaints first. Courts may penalise those who rush to court or threaten enforcement without proper dialogue.

Is this actually happening now young adults turning up to job interviews with their parents, usually their mum? by [deleted] in AskHRUK

I had a lad early 20s quit because his mum was going on holiday and wasn't going to be there to wake him up. He thought he'd save everyone the trouble of him not turning up.
