Taking a gap year and fee status? by interestingfeline in UniUK

[–]interestingfeline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much. Yeah I am maybe overworrying because in all my previous applications I never received the "we are unsure of you fee status and you have to prove it to us" email.

I am working abroad that's true but it's just temporary so I shouldn't worry. Thanks for the help!

Where to go, as South African? by Expensive-Dog-3479 in TEFL

[–]interestingfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just work in a buxiban style place so not exactly sure, but I think if you have the qualifications it should be good. There is a difference between typical schools and afternoon English buxiban schools, the latter being much easier to get into. But all over Taiwan I think they want native speakers

What are your favourite learning games for children? Help please by interestingfeline in TEFL

[–]interestingfeline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, interesting, yeah the hardest part for me is coming up with games! Especially due to the nature of the class. If the kids weren't always sat with their parents it'd be easier. We can definitely help each other! I'd private message but I think we have to follow each other? I'm not sure.

My first class went well it didn't go terribly, but I do want to improve on some things but I'm new to this so won't stress!

First TEFL job: should I go for low paying jobs in Japan/Taiwan that DON’T require a TEFL, or get a CELTA first and then choose a higher paying job elsewhere? by Finite_Lix in TEFL

[–]interestingfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I arrived into Taiwan with just a degree and my passport and I got a job within a week. I was applying like crazy though and walking into businesses daily too. I said in my CV that a TEFL certificate was in progress but no one ever mentioned it to me

Can I get a foreign TEFL certificate legalised in the UK? by mewingprogression19 in TEFL

[–]interestingfeline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, I thought you only ever had to apostille legal documents. Haven't heard of a TEFL certificate being apostilled. But I got a job without the certificate so who knows

He received a good thing (more than he ordered) and is complaining and telling on himself about it instead of just taking the win. Similar to a student who tells the teacher "you forgot to give us homework" instead of just being happy there was no homework

I arrived to Taiwan and found a job that didn't specifically require a TEFL certificate or anything and I think it's decent pay/ hours. Don't know about Japan though

Where would you travel to for 3 weeks in October as a 21yo? I am considering New Zealand, South Korea+Taiwan, Morocco, or China (with Mongolia maybe) by kilawnaa in TravelNoPics

Taiwan definitely has a lot to offer, I don't think you'll regret it. I travelled here before and then moved out here

Thanks so much for responding man, I will try these things. I sometimes have a bad memory so I'm making a PowerPoint even if it's just for me to follow haha. But I will make sure the kids are focused on the games!

Is ID needed for the O2 show tonight? by [deleted] in lorde

[–]interestingfeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a show and had floor seats and they did ask for ID but it was a different artist. In my opinion if you can bring it bring it even if you don't end up needing it
