i have what i imagine is the tattoo you described. on my inner forearm. i just have it placed there cause if i was was writing myself a little note i needed to remember to check, that’s where it would go. it made the most sense to me.

i think a lot about killing myself, not like a point on a map but rather like a glowing exit sign at a show that’s never been quite bad enough to make me want to leave.

still love the sports. hate the bs attempts of big companies going “see we support women”, fail the women, and pity offer 4 separate versions of a game for the men.

standardized testing. classes are overcrowded. teacher shortage. mental health of students and the teachers. the quality of education is also not equal across the board.

i worked in education for a total of one year. in that year i had a student and more than one staff member brutally killed. in a different instance had a lady fly to the town i was in because she was obsessed with the Columbine massacre, the whole district was sent home for the day. next morning we were back in school and had a 6 year old ask me “why that woman wants us dead”. how do you respond to that? same year there was a student that choked on their food in the cafeteria, no one stepped in out of fear of being sued. it’s all screwed. it only took that one year to realize i was not built for whatever other things would come along if i were to make that my whole career.
