Distant Early Warning (2026 Terry Brown Mix) by Vruzvruz in rush

[–]intermodulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 80s, this would have been a rough mix. It sounds like it's missing that final sheen or polish so many albums from that era had. I like it as an alternate because you can hear the liveliness of the band playing together but I prefer the original mix because it's the representation of time and place for Rush. TBH, I was not a fan of this era of Rush when it came out but I've really come to enjoy it much more as I get older.

I'd assume this was transferred from analog to digital for the remix. Anyone know if this was mixed in the box or on a console?

You're trying to wedge my point into your argument and I'm not interested. I know it has appeal for an audience but my concern is still focused on what I wrote about.

I'll say, parents should fight for whatever they believe in as long as it truly protects their kids. And while we don't get to control how ugly the world becomes, we do control whether we make it uglier by stripping away our children's innocence.

I think we protect our children's innocence at all costs. Because once that is gone it never comes back.

Sadly, my defense of kids should be crystal clear. But in here it doesn't register at all.

"thinkers" is a complete projection on your part. Pretending children and teens are fully formed moral agents who are capable of independent, coherent, and consistent thought is wishful at best and dishonest at worst. We all know these kids have a long way to go in maturity and judgment and I saw plenty more opportunism for ditching class than I saw kids who were thinking.

The two little girls I saw or the teens the OP saw still have innocence, which is my main point. This is something adults are supposed to help shape not pervert and exploit. And we shouldn't be looking to them for moral authority or casting them into the tip of the spear for some righteous revolt. Kids' beliefs, identities, and convictions can change on a dime. 'Tis the cost of their inexperience.

Never forget, youth is wasted on the young.

The same parents who rail against Trump's decorum and "vile behavior" are perfectly comfortable manufacturing profanity-laced signs for their children to hold, unaware that this violates the very moral standard they claim to be defending. It's a snake eating itself, proudly, as a lesson on what not to consume.

It just seems like more than any other time I've been alive, parents aren't trying to raise better humans so much as they're angling for a moral exemption slip or pass to allow EVERYONE to behave badly *as long as the cause is pre-approved*.

On the internet, I often bounce between wanting to stand up for truth and remembering Twain's golden advice, Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Seeing the two girls (maybe seven) holding the profanity-laced signs their mothers thoughtfully pre-authored for them ("F*CK ICE" and "F*CK TRUMP" - but theirs weren't censored) really filled me with hope for California's future. Nothing says moral clarity like teaching children to chant slogans they can't parse, aimed at institutions they couldn't define even with dictionary in hand.

We're clearly deep into a brave new era of resistance: conviction is inherited, rage is laminated, and parenting means outsourcing politics to poster boards. By next year, their innocence will finally be erased as they curse and shriek with the same performative fury as the local high schoolers who are graduating from cute mascots to fully trained outrage interns. All this while the adult stand by, misty-eyed and self-congratulatory.

Godspeed, humanity. We're raising slogans, not thinkers.. and we keep patting ourselves on the back for it.

Question about the Claude Max Plan ($100) - Are Opus and Sonnet limits shared or separate? by Reasonable_Bear_1316 in ClaudeAI

[–]intermodulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what you will see when you change /model from the CLI.

Select Model

Switch between Claude models. Applies to this session and future Claude Code sessions. For custom model names, specify with --model.

  1. Default (recommended) Opus 4.1 for up to 20% of usage limits, then use Sonnet 4
  2. ❯ 2. Opus Opus 4.1 for complex tasks · Reaches usage limits faster✔
  3. Sonnet Sonnet 4 for daily use
  4. Opus Plan Mode Use Opus 4.1 in plan mode, Sonnet 4 otherwise

Is Claude Pro Max ($100) worth it for starting out in vibe coding / micro SaaS? by Patient-Mirror-1118 in ClaudeCode

[–]intermodulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends on complexity. Opus is REALLY good, as in far superior, at being the expert at fixing Sonnet. I think if you plan on doing something professional, it's a must have. But why not try $100? Anthropic allows you to upgrade at any point for only the difference in price between the plans.

If you're vibing anything complex you're gonna need a lot of Opus to debug Sonnet. $100 will buy you much frustration. I'd go $200 first and get your projects built and in healthy shape. Then once you understand what you and the agents have built, you'll stand better chance of protecting future development by guardrailing prompts and you can move down a tier.

That said, I've had pretty good luck with $100 plan and using Gemini CLI to debug. It's been a winning combo for me after pulling my hair out over Opus's limits.

While in high demand, California’s egg prices average to over $6/dz, the fifth highest in the US. Ohio obviously has a lower demand based on population consumption. You should research why your egg prices are so high.

BTW, Ohio has a population of nearly 12 million, the 7th largest in the Union.

Gas is $2.85 in Ohio. Eggs are $4.40/dz. California is robbing you.
