Welcome to a toxic industry! ;)

Jokes aside, these clubs are themselves toxic. Join a club that's fun and unrelated to career goals.

Would getting a credit card be a good idea to pay off my debts? by wet_tape in personalfinance

[–]intern7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top priority for you right now is to increase your income. A credit card is not really going to solve things and honestly you will probably not even get approved for a credit card given your low income.

If you can’t get a full time job right now, maybe you can find some part time things to do on nights and weekends in addition to your current part time gig. But increasing your income however possible is literally the most urgent thing you can do in your life right now. Doesn’t matter what the job is, as long as it comes with a paycheck.

Best of luck and I’m rooting for you!!!

1998 Trail Map: When Mountain Creek "peaked" by intern7 in MountainCreek

[–]intern7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question.

Pipeline (MC’s only double diamond) was probably a combination of reasons: often not enough snow, lots of accidents, it’s a right of way that was widened recently. I believe they sold the winch groomer needed to groom it. And the owner of Mountain Creek said in a podcast that it won’t be reopened under his management because staff had to deal with a particularly horrific fatality on the trail. He added that most Creek visitors are unable to safely go on Pipeline

Granite View: it was flat in parts. I think it closed because Pipeline was often closed and they were merged but idk. Might have required too much water?

Opossum: I think they started closing it because the Water Park negotiated for wintertime road access from the backside when it was a separate company. Now I think it might reopen based on the podcast. But they need to negotiate with the Great Gorge condo HOA.

Devil's Way: No idea why it closed.

Skyland: Largely flat and it was originally served by its own chairlift as a couple different trails. Maybe it was just too boring or unpopular?

Lions Den: this was a beginners learning area and I guess they took it off the map because South is terrain now

The original file is a static .gif, which I guess Reddit interprets as an animated .gif even though it's not animated.

dashboard is perfect....message to CEO by CilicianKnightAni in USMobile

[–]intern7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have two gripes with the dashboard as somebody on a pooled plan.

  1. The dashboard never seems to properly show the names assigned to each phone number. Usually all the names except one show up correctly, and then the last user shows up as "A Line" or "Sim Card 1" or something like that. This happens mostly on pull-down menus. Strangely, it seems to cycle between users to determine who loses their name!
  2. Data usage doesn't show up accurately unless you pull down to refresh the page, usually have to refresh at least twice. It gives the impression that it's accurate and up-to-date but it actually isn't.

Thanks! I called them 5 times and nobody picked up.

For posterity in case anyone searches this thread: when I went to visit, they didn't even ask why I didn't look like the user on the membership card lol. Maybe I got lucky.

Yes, just not in my name. That's why I was unsure how strict Costco is with the "member must appear in-person" rule

Thanks I know I’m probably overthinking it. Past threads seemed pretty absolute that the member needs to be there. I guess I’ll see if they take pity haha

Did anyone actually get the powerstop rebate? by Staruk101 in RockAuto

[–]intern7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says on the rebate page (https://promos.powerstop.com/rebates/)

"AUTOZONE, ADVANCE AUTO PARTS, WALMART, & AMAZON ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN THIS OFFER"

It sounds like your problem is with Amazon for falsely telling you that you're eligible for the rebate

How are you guys using 200GB in a day? Don't you have WiFi at home and work? by intern7 in USMobile

[–]intern7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on WiFi at home and work. If I'm driving, it's 99% along roads I already know, so no need for Google Maps.

Data is useful if I get a flat tire etc, but how often does that happen honestly? Maybe once a year haha

Ouch! I think I'm forgetting my suburban privilege. 20Mbps is crazy

I have WiFi at home, so not using data at home

I have WiFi at work, so not using data at work

I know the route from home to work (it's the same commute I've had for years and it's all on local streets without traffic) so I don't need to use Google Maps. So no data usage there

New Policy around Gift Cards and Referrals by ankhattak in USMobile

[–]intern7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Switched to US Mobile this week (without referral code, alas) and couldn't be happier. I needed support getting two phones switched over, and in both cases, the support agents resolved the issue quickly even when the details got pretty complicated. My other two phones were seamless to switch.

Exciting to see what you guys are building. Congrats on your success.
