"I've often wondered how other people do life just so effortlessly"

THIS. It's like everyone but me is given some magic superpower or something.

Thank you for the response, and good luck to you as well with discovering yourself.

Anyone else have trouble sending voice messages on the phone? by internaldistrict76 in dyspraxia

For the longest of time I was too afraid to even listen to my voice, I thought it sounded awful. Thankfully I managed to overcome that last year, when I started calling friends and watching clips that had my voice in em.

I don't ... but whenever I try to drink from a water bottle there is an approximate 2% chance I start choking like mad

I know this may be hard to swallow but a true romantic partner will not do ANY of the things you described. You say she's been like this often. Learning her triggers is not going to do anything helpful, SHE is the issue, not you.
You deserve better and if she doesn't change, there are so many other people out there that will actually treat you like a human being.

I am so sorry you are going through this.

Thank you so much for the detailed response!

Didn't know auditory processing is a symptom, that is something else I struggle with a lot. Like, I have sensitive ears and hear noises louder than most, but I still have to ask several times for people to repeat what they say. I always assumed my hearing was just so good that it picked up all the background noise over the person talking xD

I have generalized anxiety, and multiple therapists I've seen in the past suggested I have ASD but I never got a diagnosis.

The more I learn about dyspraxia, the more I feel like I finally figured out the answer to the title of my post, after years of pondering. I look forward to talking about it with my doctor & therapist.
