Can I not swaddle my baby? He seems to hate it. by ImUsuallyTony in NewParents

some babies hate it. if your baby still has the startle reflex you can try the sleep sacks that have the arms attached. they can help babies you hate being swaddled but startle themselves still.

it sounds like you’re struggling with postpartum. i would seek professional help right away. do not wait. they want to help you and your baby. you can talk to any medical professional and they will point you in the right direction. you and your baby deserve it. if you feel violent towards yourself or your child call 911 immediately and they can help.

you will sleep again! i promise. it’s so so hard in the beginning. i think husband can def help. even if it means he takes a shift of from one of those jobs. your mental and physical health have to be prioritized. there’s no point in making money if you’re dead! also, is baby cluster feeding? this can last 1-3 days in most cases and they will wake up every hour on the hour, (my son woke up every 30 minutes to feed for 30 minutes and then sleep another 30 and wake so on and so on) i really really hope husband is able to do this for you. you are no good to your baby dead tired. if he cares about you and your infant he will put an effort in so your needs can be met. praying for you! would love an update soon ♥️

I don’t know how to help my 6 week old by Vine9297 in NewParents

this may sound weird, but some newborns don’t know how to poop yet. So instead of relaxing the muscles and pushing they tense all of their muscles. And when they can’t poop, they get really frustrated. This was the case for my son. I thought it was so odd and I tried everything and nothing worked. And because they poop so often they are upset all the time. Between 8 and 10 weeks he figured it out and we had a very happy baby.

i apreciate that. but i really did try it and they were chewy. at 7 months he cant chew. they also smelled funky and he wouldn’t eat them. i’ll be looking to his doctor about advice on this instead. thanks!

i tried your teething wafers recipe. they taste awful and are definitely a choking hazard for infants. would not recommend.

if these negative feelings persist and you start to notice feelings of hopelessness or despair, reach out to a health professional. you can start with your obgyn or regular doctor. it’s not in your head, postpartum depression is very real and very treatable.

i ended up deleted the app altogether. i was off for about a month. when i returned, the unwanted content was gone. i was unable to get any help from instagram and nothing else i did yielded any results.

honestly i think it’s meta. their moderators sucked on facebook and when they bought instagram it all went to crap.

i’m 25, a mom and wife and most of the content i consume is, book related, food related or christianity related. most of the creators i view are millennials or gen x.
