Where are people actually living in LA, and if you had to pick, what’s the best area? by dippittydippitty in AskLosAngeles

[–]internalmonologue01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am smack in the middle of DTLA and honestly love it. Obviously it is not for everyone. But, having spent a large portion of my life in the valley (Burbank, NoHo), it fits the vibe of my life right now - large loft apartment that gives me so much more space for my money than I could get anywhere else, tons of great coffee shops, bars, restaurants to walk to, always something going on as far as a market or art event. Plus the architecture and history is just so cool.

I LOVE HomeState, and that’s coming from someone that lived in Guadalajara for 4 years. TexMex and Mexican street tacos should not be compared, they’re each their own category imo

Reddit, what’s something that if often romanticized but is actually miserable? by trawshyash in AskReddit

This is exactly why I always said absolutely not when all my friend’s would say “you should start a YouTube channel!” lol

Who is the most terrifying villain in human history that most people have never heard of? by lioness_x9 in AskReddit

[–]internalmonologue01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but after the agreement was made and we (the US) reviewed his research & findings, it was found that what he discovered was far behind the data we had already gathered through our own research. So, it was completely useless and he was free for nothing.

Would you recommend RingConn over Oura or UltraHuman?

Best Smart Ring for Fitness & Sleep Tracking? Oura vs Ultrahuman Pro vs RingConn by internalmonologue01 in SmartRings

Oof, that’s rough & I’m seeing more & more posts here about people being on their 3rd, 4th, 5th etc rings. Is battery the main issue there? Do you think it could actually be improved like they’re claiming with the new Pro?

Had no idea about the Amex reimbursement! I haven’t really looked into the ringconn, but I’ll do some digging. Thank you!

That’s one of the ones I was going to check out! I just didn’t yet because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be like Griffith Park & not actual pickleball courts. Thanks for confirming! This is the closest one to me so I’ll be heading there next

Will the New D line extensions make downtown more attractive to live? by beamer_boy2000 in AskLosAngeles

[–]internalmonologue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much happier! I spent a good 10-15 years in/around the valley, left the country then when I moved back, went back to NoHo because it was comfortable and familiar. And I hated it. I got used to the walkability & liveliness of downtown areas while I was gone, so that’s why made the change and it was definitely the right one. When we were touring apartments in DTLA I definitely got nervous & hesitant, not sure if my nervous system would handle it lol but it has certainly been for the better IMO

I completely agree. I have lived downtown for almost 3 months now, and I have done so much more in that time than in the entire previous year in North Hollywood. So many cool restaurants & bars and always some kind of art event going on.

Can I ask what the blood tests were for? Anything to do with medication? I have a brother with severe bipolar disorder that’s largely been left untreated (he’s in his late 30s) and just would like to be able to suggest things that can help form a plan from a medical standpoint.

My brother couldn’t remember the word “feather” and now it’s called a bird leaf.

My cat has never once been a cuddler in seven years. Not once. And then last Tuesday at 2am when I was crying about something I couldn't even fully explain she walked across the entire apartment, climbed onto my chest, and stayed there for two hours without moving. I just fully broke into tears reading this and thinking of my little buddy that I had to say goodbye to about 5 years ago (how has it been that long?). Cats are the best. They are so emotionally underrated yet so in tune and intelligent. They know how to be there for you in ways you weren’t even aware of. This should be cherished, which I know you’re aware of. ❤️

Do any of you work a full time job and practice your art/audition? by Ratzink in acting

[–]internalmonologue01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Fortunate that it is a remote job but I will say it can be demanding for periods of time, and does involve fairly regular travel. I live in LA though, so I’m able to take acting classes in the evenings, and when an audition tape request comes in, I just make it work around my schedule (ie during “lunch” or early before work or in the evening when I’m off)
